Xavier paced about by the entrance of the building, thinking about how to approach that young girl. He turned around and bumped right into her.
The young girl seemed to have dropped something. She immediately bent down to pick it up. Before Xavier could have a good look, she'd already placed it in her pocket. She muttered an apology and was about to leave.
Xavier quickly grabbed her hand. "Where are you going?"
The young girl found it odd. "Who are you?"
"I'm … just curious." Xavier felt a little awkward. Seeing her up close, he realized that she looked even more like Diane. He said without thinking, "You look a lot like someone I know."
