Domani was a fucking ass.
“Oh…” Caelian smiled. “I see.”
“Domani…don’t you have a meeting with Counselor Vieri about the port clearance papers?” I said through gritted teeth. “You know, the ones you were supposed to get last week?” Domani’s smile disappeared in an instant and at least he had the courtesy to look embarrassed.
“On it, capo,” he muttered and quickly hurried out. I could feel Caelian’s eyes on me, watching me and I knew the Holy Caelian wisdom was on its way.
“It’s not like that,” I grumbled before he could start.
“But I didn’t say anything,” he said.
“Get to work,” I scowled, glancing at my phone again. Still nothing.
