I walked towards the hallway, and I met Silver. “Hello, Thalia. Does your husband have a plan on eating his dinner?” he asked me, and I shrugged my shoulders. “Ask him,” I replied. He was surprised but didn’t speak. At least he knew how to read the atmosphere. I went straight to my daughter’s room, and she was drinking her milk.
“I will sleep here tonight, Freya,” I told her, and she nodded. “I’ll sleep on the sofa,” she told me. I went to Giovanna and kissed her cheek. “Mommy will sleep beside you tonight,” I happily informed her. Freya didn’t ask why I was sleeping here, and that’s what I am thankful for.
At midnight, I unexpectedly felt thirsty for water, and there was no pitcher or bottled water. I don’t have a choice but to go into the kitchen to get water to drink. I carefully walked so I wouldn’t disturb their sleep. The lights were dimmed. That’s why I do not worry about being tripped off somewhere. I was about to enter the kitchen when I heard two people talking.
