“Vicky?” Charlene's shaky voice came as she held her phone to her ear. “Can.. can you come over?”
That was all Vicky needed to hear, she hopped into her car, despite how late it was, and headed straight to the penthouse. The bandages on her body did not stop her, neither did the pain all over her body.
Close to an hour later, she arrived and met Charlene waiting in the garage. She embraced her as soon as she stepped out of the car and they stayed in each other's arms for several minutes, Charlene sobbing quietly.
Her eyes were tightly shut, but that did not stop her tears from slipping out of them.
“What happened? You sounded so unhappy over the phone.” Vicky pointed out, her eyebrows pressed together in worry. Charlene only sniffed and pulled away from the hug, leading the way to the back.
