“Looks like you already know us men all too well, huh, Frank?” he said with a laugh.
“When do you plan on visiting Lorain?”
“Keep me updated. Maybe I can help,” he added with a grin while talking to Frank on the other line.
Suddenly, a book fell behind him from the back of his library.
Lando quickly turned to where the sound came from and immediately approached it.
Because of the noise Vina made, she panicked and quickly hid, praying that her boss wouldn’t see her while she was spying on him.
“Hold on, Frank. I think someone’s here inside. Let me check who it is,” Lando said.
He saw the book lying on the floor. It had fallen from a high shelf—impossible to drop on its own without something bumping it.
Seeing no one around, Lando went back to what he was doing.
As soon as Vina heard him leave, she snuck out of her hiding spot. But just as she was coming out, Lando accidentally stepped on her fingers, making her scream: “Ouuccchhhh!”
