After such an amazing time together with Cora she cleared her throats as she laid on my shoulders."If Max comes back, what are your plans for her?" She suddenly asked catching me off guard.
I stood beside Cora, my eyes drifting toward the ceiling as I considered her question. What were my plans for Max? The truth was, I'd been thinking about that a lot lately.
"Cora, I..." I hesitated, unsure how to articulate my thoughts. But something about her expression told me she already knew what I was thinking.
"You want to finish what you started," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, feeling a sense of resolve wash over me. "Yes. We were so close to achieving our goal. I owe it to myself, to our cause, to see it through."
