(Blake's POV)
My heart stopped beating for a second when I saw an empty bed, and then my heartbeat burst and raced as I dashed to her bedroom. I was like an insane person taking the pillow, taking the blanket out of bed, thinking she might be hiding in there, and I had to crouch down and look under the bed.
She could be in the bathroom, but my chest ached when I pushed the door open and found it empty as well. Grabbing a few strands of my hair, I paced around her room before opening the cabinet, but only her suitcase was inside. I put my hand at the back of my neck, massaging my nape as I felt the anxiety and the stress rising. I felt like having a heart attack tonight because of her.
The phone rang, and when I saw the caller, I answered it right away. “Later, mom. I’ll call you later.” I said, not giving her a chance to speak. She just said okay, and then our call ended.
