SILVER MOON PACK PALACE.
A part of Mina thought his Alpha command would work. Maybe this was all a bad dream, and she hadn’t actually married Damon. Maybe she would betray her friend and be compelled to tell him exactly what they had planned.
But as she waited, nothing came. No urge, no pulling at her mind, nothing forcing her to tell him the truth.
“Tell me,” Alpha Logan continued, oblivious to how useless his aura was on her. “Where is Amber?”
A laugh of relief almost bubbled up in Mina’s stomach but she suppressed it. Squaring her shoulders and taking a deep breath, she allowed her eyes to unfocus. Keeping her voice level like she was under a bond, she began to recite what they had all planned.
“Amber came with me to Silver Moon but she’s not here right now. She’s deep in the woods. She’s a maid to the pack advisor, Lady Delilah, and together they went into the woods for some training. She told me they’d be back to the palace in two days,”
