Lucas wondered what all that was about. He watched Kayla stand hesitantly close to the door before she began to move towards him tentatively.
"I'm sorry about that," she said. He didn't know what to make of her apology. What was she sorry about exactly? The fact that she had shoved him into a corner to hide him, or the fact that her mother showed up when she was supposed to be at work.
