Riley POV
Standing in the hospital, watching Liam beat Jax bloody sent an odd calmness over me. I wasn't afraid and I needed to protect Jax.
I knew I wasn't strong enough to stop Liam, but I knew his wolf would never allow our child to be harm, despite what he said earlier.
I reached my hand to his shoulder, letting my emotions pour out of me. I prayed in my head for Liam to see what destruction he was causing to his best friend.
Jax looked to me with a smile and reached his palm to Liam's chest. I didn't know how but we were both trapping the unruly Alpha in our hands.
For a brief moment I thought we got through to him. Liam softened and I could see his body relax. It didn't last long though. As he spoke to the men in the hospital his anger kept spiking.
