Aurora’s POV
Shifting my gaze towards the door, I was contemplating on whether I should leave or stay back.
I wanted to make sure that my father recognized me before I returned home. Even if it's just a weak flicker of recognition, I would be content.
Taking a deep breath, I turned to Jake, “You can go ahead."
“Yeah, suit yourself. If you need anything, reach out to me through the guards outside the door,” he said, eliciting a nod from me.
When he closed the door, I pulled my feet towards my father before pulling a chair and settling right in front of him.
Taking his hand in mine, I said, "You have all the time in the world, I will wait.” Those words, I just spat them out so I wouldn't lose my head.
The real deal was, I didn't have that patience to wait. I was scared that the next time I came around, something even more dangerous would have happened, and I couldn't risk it.
Parting his lips, he was going to say something but the door creaked open and Emma walked in.
