Face twisted in annoyance, grumbling, and dissatisfied. Ben continued grumbling things while his eyes remained sharp and frowning at the group in front of them. He still can’t understand why he agreed to this. What’s worse, he no longer had the choice to turn back.
“If the alpha finds out what happened, we’re going to get in so much trouble.”
He grit his teeth to hide the fear crawling on him. He’d known Duncan since they were pups and he knew the alpha wouldn’t agree to such a thing.
Yet Selene’s face remained radiant, happy even as they got closer to the young alpha’s mansion.
“That’s why we won’t tell him.”
She had this tingling inside of her, having a sense of light-headedness from the adrenaline of having done something meaningful this time around.
