She watched him from where she sat at the edge of the bed; he was writing at the far end of the room; it was night, but he wasn't attempting to get into bed, and she was already drowsy. It had been a long day—another day of being submissive.
He was still uncomfortable with her sudden change; she knew and was glad about it. At least she wasn't the only one apprehensive about the next move.
He wiped his eyes with his thumb.
She yawned. She couldn't wait for him any longer. He looked at her as she began to strip.
"No," he shook his head, "don't go to bed now; stay with me."
She sighed and sat back on the bed, trying her best not to shut her eyes.
"Don't sleep, Maya! Wait a little more time," he said again, snapping her out of a drool, almost enveloping her. She shook her head, determined to obey him, watching him scribble on paper, still in the white shirt he had returned from work.
She yawned
To her relief, he rounded up whatever he was doing, arranged the papers, and stood up.
