Violet POV

Oh, my fucking gosh.

Am I reading this correctly or am I just dreaming?

I took a glance at the text that Jason sent me.

Yes, baby, I'm okay.

This can't be happening. No, not to me. Jason Vella isn't even attracted to me, he hardly even knows my name so why in the hell I would think he would want to call me baby.

I don't believe it, I shouldn't be worried.

Right?

--

''Ms.Johnson, I have a phone call for you in line two,'' Nora said to me as soon as I stepped into the building.

''-- Violet there's a meeting with Sax London about the transferring shipments to China,'' said Paula, the treasurer of the company.

''--Violet, don't forget to send the transcript to Jason by one o'clock, here is the copy,'' said Ricardo, the electrician of the company.

I took a deep sigh and looked at everyone who was pacing to me.

My goodness, it's only been two days and already I feel like I'm on fire. No wonder Jason is so stoic and grumpy all the time. These people are like hyenas, craving to devour their prey within any seconds.

''— Yes, of course, thank you all,'' I sighed, taking a file from Paula and Ricardo and gave a smile to Nora, confirming that I got the memo.

DING

The elevator door was opened and I stepped inside and pressed six to Mr.Vella's office.

So far, being at his office isn't so bad as I thought it would be. At times, I catch myself lurking around his baby pictures, high school pictures, and even college pictures. Even when he was a kid he was so adorable.

I've seen photos left to right of him, his sister, his mother, and father. He looked exactly like his father and a bit of his mother too.

He even had some awards that I didn't even expect him to have. Such as; Perfect Attendance, AB Honor Roll Student, and even an award for art.

Things like this question more about his personal life. What're the likes, doesn't like, what does he like to do for fun? Is he really that boring in person?

It's sad that I can't even pinpoint his characteristics but to know that he is extremely stubborn one and two he has a devotion to his work.

*Incoming Call on FaceTime*

Jason Vella

''Oh god,'' I whispered.

I answered the FaceTime call.

''Mr.Vella,'' I said timidly.

''Ms.Johnson.''

''Um, I.. I know you are expecting about the transfers and the shipment to China, so I would give you the recap of everything that has been going on.''

''Proceed.''

I took a deep sigh and proceeded to tell him about everything. The transfers, shipments, and some arrangements in planning to London's fashion week coming soon.

I couldn't tell whether or not if he was paying attention to me but I ignored his tension to me as I speak to him with the assignments so far.

''— Very well, I'll look in the transcripts and give you my feedback.''

''Okay.''

''And by the way, the text I've to send you it was a mistake. Ignore it.''

I stammered and exhaled a rough sigh. I gulped down my throat and nodded my head at the same time. ''Okay,'' I whispered.

He ended the FaceTime as I sat there in silence taking up what he said to me.

A mistake? Huh?

Well, that's pretty clear that he doesn't see any interest in me at all.

----

By four-fifteen I've arrived at my apartment and took a cool shower. I couldn't help myself but replay of what he said to me.

It was a mistake...

I know I shouldn't get my feelings hurt and it's really not that deep but how can I get it over with when clearly I have these crazy feelings towards him. And I know he doesn't feel the same way, obviously, but still, it made me felt some type of way.

The more I thought of it the more it irritated me to the point I went through my closet and started purging my clothes.

I switched out all of the grandma clothes I've taken and placed them into the trash bags along with some shoes and heels.

''Ew, why do I thought this was cute?'' I said, taking the crocs and throwing it to the bag.

With all the cleansing, I was left with six outfits, two heels, and one Nike sneakers.

My style of clothing was THAT bad?! Sheesh.

Knock Knock

''Coming!'' I shouted.

Going to the door, I opened it wide and it was Aubree holding a bag of goodies in her hand.

''Hey!'' She cheered.

''Hey, come in.''

''Jesus Vi, what is this?''

''Dumping out some clothes,'' I said, coming to her and separated some bags for her to walk.

''Why?''

''Because I need an upgrade, I need to change something for myself.''

''Please tell me you're not doing this for a boy.''

''Wh-- uhh--''

She raised her brows waiting for me to surrender and tell the truth.

''Yes, okay,'' I said in a gloomy tone.

''And this happens to be?''

''Jason Vella. He sends me a text and said it was a mistake. I got it over my head and now I don't know how to stop.''

I sighed and dropped myself to the couch and groaned with frustration.

Aubree sighed and said ''Violet, you can't let things get to you. Sure yeah, he's your boss and he's hot as fuck but that shouldn't let you purge your clothes for a guy.''

"I can't help myself sometimes."

"Understandable, sometimes we take things from the heart when it's really not that serious."

''You're right, this is so stupid. But, let's be real, I do need a fucking upgrade. The majority of my clothes are still from high school. I still have that Go Cougars! tee from Junior year.

''No worries, I got you, how about we do some shopping spree?'' She jiggles her brows.

"Really?"

"Yes, let's switch things up a bit. Just for you of course," she winked.

I chortled and replied. ''Okay, fine, let's do it.''
