Jason POV

Was I lying? Maybe...

I had no idea if I had made a mistake or not in hiring her on, but I knew I had no choice. She was observant. Strong. Fluent in languages I didn't even know and a great asset to whoever she was with. I would've been an idiot to not hire her.

Violet is incredibly smart and I thought I made a mistake of placing her as my understudy. I would've thought she would've snapped and break easily since my board always raze my emotions every time I step in the building.

Yes, sure, I am the CEO and what not. But, honestly, I could never breathe whenever they jolt their way to me. Thank god I left to and came here to Greece otherwise, I would've lost my sanity.

--

My phone rang and it was my best friend Cameron. Cameron Green is my best friend, someone who is tolerant, a great listener, and also very wise. He and I have been through so much over the past years since our college days and it got us stronger than ever.

It's the type of energy that is unexplainable, but at the same time simple to talk about and I wouldn't trade anyone else around the world at all whatsoever.

''--Yo,'' I answered.

''Open the door!" He cheered.

I sighed and let out a small chuckle. Opening the door, Cameron was there with a bottle of Vodka, throwing his arms in the air, eager to be here with me.

''Vodka?'' I questioned.

''Oh come on, your sister got married, everyone is celebrating except for Mr.Negative-Nancy.''

''Who's that?" I jokingly responded.

''You bitch. What's the matter? Sis told me you dipped after the reception.''

''Nothing, just didn't want to be around with-you-know-you.''

He raised his brows, analyzing who I was referring to. ''Right, Sasha. I get it.''

''Yeah.''

''You still think she has feelings for you? She's literally all over her new boyfriend.''

''I guess so.''

''Man listen, you don't need to worry about her anymore, you moved on, she moved on, and I think we should move on,'' He grinned at the end and shoved the Vodka bottle in front of me.

''What do you say?'' He smiled.

''You owe me.''

''Yeah, I know.'' We both chuckled and leftover to the bar with everyone else.

The music was blasting with old-school hip-hop having everyone dancing crazy. Caesar and Jessica waved their hands over to me and I waved back shortly and begin to take shots with Cameron.

One became two to turn to three then four then six and lastly eight.

Eight total shots of vodka and I knew I was completely drunk.

''Bro... Bro... I'm so fucking... drunk,'' I slurred to Cameron with a giggle at the end.

''Yeah... dude, I know....''

I chuckled again. ''I... I... haven't been this drunk since--''

''Since our twenty-first... twenty-first birth-day..''

We both stared at each other for a second and burst out laughing.

''Oh my gosh, what.. what time is it?'' I slurred to him.

''It's umm it's two in the morning..''

''Oh my gosh, oh my fucking gosh I have a flight six in the morning. This is terrible!''

''Relax dude, you can reschedule your time.''

''No no, no I can't I have a meeting with Sax London and the-the fashion s-show-- oh my gosh I'm screwed,'' I whispered at the end.

''Jason--''

''No, I have to go. I have to go,'' I panicked.

I took my keys and paid the bartender the rest of the shots and went over to the elevator.

''Jason! Jason!'' Jessica yelled from afar.

I sighed and turned around. ''Jessica, I'm sorry but I have to go.''

''Wh... Why?"

''Just not feeling well, and my flight is first thing in the morning, I'm so sorry to do this to you Jes, I am but I just--''

''I get it. It's okay. I understand.''

''No, you don't you're angry.''

''Jason, I'm not angry okay, I just feel a bit disappointed but not angry. I know your such a busy man and never take a break.''

''Yeah,'' I looked down and felt embarrassed and a bit ashamed that I had to do this to her. I know, I could've extended the vacation and stayed longer to have fun.

But, I can't, I always feel antsy to work; work has gotten over my life and I can't control myself but wanting to work. It keeps me sane, and I always feel the devotion to do so.

''Jay,'' she touched my chin, comforting me.

''Yeah?''

''Get rest, sleep well, I love you.''

She hugged me and I hugged her back, tugging her head on my chest and brushed my fingers through her hair. ''I love you too,'' I whispered.

--
[ the next day ]

It was seven forty in the morning when I arrived back to my office and I can feel myself dying in pain from drinking so much at the wedding reception.

I felt my head throbbing rapidly on the side of my head which made me lost so much focus to pay attention to my surroundings.

I was in my chair typing up a letter to one of the stockholders over at Sax London's company and felt tense drowsiness in my eyes. My eyes were dropping down and I was fighting to sleep.

I shook my head and sighed then took a sip of my coffee and continued to type.

I typed and typed and typed and all of a sudden I shut my eyes and placed my head back on the chair. Within a minute, I fell asleep and shut down my surroundings to finally get a quick cat-nap.

*three hours later*...

''Mr.Vella... Mr.Vella...,'' a soft-angelic voice echoed through my sleep. I opened my eyes sluggishly and saw a female figure leaning over me.

''Mr.Vella... can you hear me?'' she said again. That beautiful voice sounded familiar and I couldn't put my mind to who that was in front of me.

Her hair was straightened and she was wearing a plum v-neck dress. I was so focused on her breasts, how well-fitted they were, sitting perfectly on her chest. They looked so... scrumptious if I'm being honest.

''Mr.Vella, please say something, are you okay?'' She said again, her minty breath was fanning through my nose and it made me want to kiss her all over.

''I've always known you were beautiful,'' I whispered, still seeing a blur on the girl's face.

''Umm... uhh,'' she cleared her throat.

''I'm on the couch?'' I questioned, picking myself up from the couch.

I rubbed my eyes and jolt in fear.

''Viol...Ms.Johnson?''

''Hi,''  She waved.

Omg, I did it again..

She tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled awkwardly.

Everything about her was so different, in a good way though. The dress, her hair was straightened, and she wasn't wearing her glasses.

I kept glaring at her and finally realized it was really her. It was Violet.

She's so... wow, breathtaking to look at.

Why did it take me so long to realize that?

I snapped out of my fantasy and stood up and shook my head, running my hands through my face to wake myself up.

''What time is it?'' I asked.

''It's eleven forty, the meeting is in twenty minutes.''

''Shit,'' I whispered. ''Okay, I would be there.''

''No need to disrespect you Mr.Vella but you should take some rest, you look exhausted. Also, drink water, you would feel better, and one more thing your fly is open.

Quickly, I zipped up my zipper as she lightly blushed and said ''See you there.''

I stared at her and shook my head yes as she leaves the room to myself. Acceding what she said to me, I do need a break... like really bad. I almost missed my meeting and didn't have the ability to cancel it because I let my ego get the best of me.

I'm such a workaholic and it's affecting my health really bad, especially my sleeping schedule.

Maybe it's best to take a week off, clear my mind, and probably would have Violet to do the same thing.
