3. I like you

After that incident the tension between the two heightened. Gabby tried her best to avoid Jake. Jake is bad news. She can't afford to be involved with him. He is beyond her. Gabby is nobody and should remain that way. She’s a girl trying to hide from her horrible past, a past that she hopes never catch up on her. But then again you can never really avoid someone as determined as Jason Luke Anderson. He would just give up. The more she tries to stay away from him, the more challenged he gets. He loves challenges.

"What the hell you scared the shit out of me." Gabby yelled when Jake slammed the door of the storage room.

"You're avoiding me."

"Excuse me. I don't have time for your bullshits. I need to go. Let me pass."

"No. Unless you tell me, why you are avoiding me?" He stated blocking the doorway.

"Fine, let's stay here the entire day. I have nothing to tell you." Gabby stated. "I don't owe a perverted asshole like you an explanation."

"Well, alright. Let me talk then." Jake stated. "I like you. I really do."

"Thank you. Are you done?" Gabby said completely annoyed.

"Not quite. I locked the door so you can't get out." He replied showing the keys to Gabby before putting it on his pockets.

"Oh gosh, if this is one of your childish games for foreplay it's not working." Gabby sat on the beer cases and pretended to yawn.

"Foreplay?" Jake moved closer to her and pulled her close to him so that they were face to face. "I don't do foreplay."

"Really?" Gabby tried to sound disappointed. "I love foreplay."

"No you don't." He stated while caressing legs.

"I do. I enjoy it." Gabby whispered and began biting his ears. "Am I turning you on?" She said seductively as her hands travelled down his body to grab the keys in his pocket.

"I know what you're trying to do." He grabbed Gabby's hands. "I like you and you're scared to admit that you like me too."

"What? As if." Gabby rolled her eyes. "You're delusional."

"If you don't like me then sleep with me."

"You mean have sex with you. As in I let myself be screwed by a perverted jerk like you. No fucking way." Gabby stated.

"Well, I guess you like me then. I can't blame you. What's not to like in me?" Jake stated cockily.

"Do you expect me to answer that? You are so full of yourself."

"I can't get you out of my head. I've been with various women and all I can think about is you. I picture you in my head whenever I'm with someone."

"You are creepy. That is sick. How can you be telling me this shit? Let my hands go. You're hurting me."

"I would never hurt you." He let go of Gabby's hands. "But come on, you are busting all my self-esteem and all my confidence right now. Help me get you out of my system."

"Oh my gosh fine. Let's get this over. Want me to bend over so you can get this over with." Gabby stated totally annoyed.

"Not here. My place tomorrow night I'll pick you up."

"Just give me your address and I'll go there. I am not going to be seen by anyone getting into your car."

"Oh come on. What's wrong with that? I thought you never cared what other people say about you." Jake stated.

"I don't. I just don't want people to start any rumors connecting me to you."

"I don't care. I mean I can ensure you that whatever happens between the two of us will remain a secret. No one will know about it."

"Even your best friends?"

"Of course you have my word. This would be our secret."

"Okay. Can you open the door now? Fine, do whatever you please. I need to pee."

"It wasn’t locked. I was just playing with you." Jake admitted.

"You're an asshole; I mean are you fucking kidding me. Someone could have walked in on us." Gabby stated totally pissed.

"I know." He stated smirking. "You were all over me."

"In your dreams, stay away from me and don't even think that I agreed with your stupid arrangement. I sleep with people I choose and not with someone who’s just trying to play games with me.”

"Did you two just come up the storage area together?" Cole glared at the two of them.

"You have eyes so why do I have to answer the obvious." Gabby hissed.

"What were you two doing down there?" Cassie asked confused.

"We had sex." Gabby responded.

"No you didn't." Cole responded.

"Well, that's exactly my point. If I said we didn't do anything. You'll probably say that's impossible. If I said we did something then you'll all won't believe what I tell you. So I'll just say just let your imaginations run wild. Think whatever you want to think. I'm beat. I just want to sleep."

"Later, sweetheart." Jake tapped her butt and smirk at her.

"Jerk." Gabby smiled and showed him her middle finger. "F. U."

"Oh just tell me what time sweetheart. I'll do you anywhere anytime however you want it." Jake stated laughing. "Let's go Cole. Nicholai is probably at the resto now. I don't get that guy. He always insists to have meetings so early in the morning."

"Well he's a busy man. And besides, we all can think straight better about business in the morning." Cole responded. "You girls take care now go ahead."

"Love you, Cole." Gabby responded. "If you're free later I'm always available for you 24/7."

"I know. Let's do a rain check on that. I might be out for a few weeks."

"Oh okay. Don't forget my chocolates."

"Sure thing Gab. How about you Cassie? You need anything?" Cole asked.

"Just watch over Jonathan for me." Cassie responded.

"Got it."

"What were you and Mr. Arrogant doing at the storage room?" Cassie asked once the two were gone.

"Playing with fire." Gabby responded.

"You know his a jerk, right. He'll just sleep with you and use you."

"Cassie, I know. You don't have to warn me about guys. I know how to handle them I won't get involve with someone I can't handle."

The next day Gabby waved goodbye to Cassie and Jonathan as they drove away. It was their day off so Gabby decided to roam around the city and enjoy the nightlife the city has to offer. She was trying to make up her mind where to go first when a car stopped in front of her and open the passenger side door.

"You never give up, do you?" Gabby smiled when he saw Jake at the driver's side.

"Hop in. You seem lost." He stated at her.

"I'm standing right in front of my apartment I'm pretty sure I know where I am." She got in and fastened her seat belt. "But I'm sure ready to get lost."

"I knew you'll change your mind." Jake said smiling sweetly and started driving. "So what are you up to tonight?"

"Nothing much. Get drunk, hook up, and maybe get laid who knows. I have no idea." Gabby replied honestly.

"Let me show you something special then if you don't have anything important to do."

"If you show me your dick I would fucking kill you." Gabby started laughing. "A guy I hooked up once used that line and he showed me his fucking dick. I mean no offense he was something in bed but his dick was nothing more than an average. How can he tell me it was something special?"

"Relax you’re blabbering. I don't really care about another person's dick." Jake started laughing with her.

"You know what I don't get you. You’re rich you can get any girl you want. And yet you are wasting your time on me. Why?" She asked seriously.

"I told you yesterday at the storage room. Were you not paying attention to anything I told to you yesterday?" Jake said in disbelief. "I like you."

"I don't do relationships." Gabby responded.

"Me neither." Jake smirked. "Then that makes the two of us. Relationships are complex and stupid. They are for weak people who think they can't survive independently. Love is for crazy people. I just said I like you. I didn't ask you to be my girlfriend. I’m in no way in love with you."

"I'm so relieved. We had that all cleared up. I would totally freak out and jump out this car if you ask me to be your girlfriend." Gabby winked at him. "Anyway, whose car is this you're driving."

"Mine. I just bought it earlier. You're the first person I let you ride it. We're here." He announced as he stopped the engine.

He stopped the car and got out. The night was perfect. They were at the port looking over the statue of Liberty. Gabby had been staying in New York for more than a year now but she never had the time or the interest to go to this place. There are really lots of things that can be so simple and yet magnificent at the same time.
