A job as compensation.

                      CHAPTER 2

                       *AURORA*

"I need a job,"

He chuckled. "What? Why should I give you a job?"

"Cause, you hit me with your car. You certainly don't want this news to come out on social media, it will ruin your reputation mister," I gave him a faux smile.

"Aurora, are you OK?" Sophie said running into the room.

"I thought you are supposed to be in work,"

"I asked for permission to leave when you called me,"

"Thanks," I smiled.

"What about your leg?"

"It's fine, but it still kinda of hurts,"

"I told you to quit looking for a job but you wouldn't listen. I have more than enough to take care of both of us,"

"I was just trying to help. The interviewer bastard asked me for sex before he could give me a job and this bastard here hit me with his car,"

"Wow, Aurora. He's so cute," she squealed whispering. Here she goes again.

"Don't tell me you are attracted to this douchebag? Besides, he doesn't look so cute to me," I whispered back.

"Cut the crap, of course he is, he is my dream husband?"

"Sophie!"

"What?"

"Who asked you for sex?" the guy hit me asked. I'm glad he didn't hear what we were saying.

"Mr. Clemson,"

"How did you know?" Sophie whispered.

"It was written on his desk,"

"I'm sorry, but I gotta go,"

"Go where? You are not going anywhere until I get the job,"

"Are you serious?"

"Do I look like I'm joking?"

"Yeah, that's right you owe my friend a job as compensation"

"Fine, when your leg is healed. Come to the office," 

"How am I sure you are not lying? I need prove that you're not lying,"

"Don't you trust me? I'm not,"

"I trust him Aurora," Sophie giggled.

"I can't believe you are saying this. You are obviously blinded by his cuteness,"

"I thought you said he wasn't cute seconds ago?"

"I did? Well that's because he isn't,"

"I need prove Mr. whatever. I never can tell you might ask security to throw me out when I come to the office,"

"It's Troy. What prove do you need?" He asked obviously feeling frustrated. He hasn't seen anything yet.

"I still prefer 'whatever' and an handwritten letter would do with your signature on it will do,"

"Aurora!" Sophie cautioned.

"What? I just wanna be sure."

"I can't believe this? You are gonna make me loose it," It was obvious he was getting mad.

I chuckled. "Are you in or not?

"Remember I'm the CEO Aura and you wanna work for me. Don't you think I would make you miserable in the office?"

"I'm not scared of you Mr. Troy besides it's Aurora not Aura"

"I still prefer 'Aura'. Your choice then, don't say I didn't warn you,"

"The letter please. I don't I should be scared of you," I smirked.

"Oh, you should."

"I don't think so mister. The letter please."

"I don't have any paper or pen with me."

"Don't worry Sophia has them. Sophie, pen and paper please"

She smiled and brought out a pen and paper from her handbag.

"There you go," he walked over to the mini table in the room and drafted out the agreement. I must admit he's so damn cute but he looked pretty angry. I guess I must have hurt his ego but I don't care. 

I just need a job badly and I had to seize this opportunity. I just pray he doesn't give me a hard time in the office. What if he does? Then I will show him the stuff I'm made of. I'm Aurora Peyton and no one messes with me.

"Done," he handed me the letter and I read every word on it.

"How am I sure this is your real signature?"

Sophie rolled her eyes. " Seriously? Aurora drop it!"

A woman walked into the room, and I'm guessing she's the physical therapist. She's really pretty.

"Hi, I'm Anna and I'm your physical therapist,"

"Him"

"How are you doing? Do you still feel any pains?"

"Not that much,"

"Uhmm OK. Mind if I re-examine your bone?"

"Sure," She applied a little pressure on my knee cap and I screamed in pain.

"Does it hurt that much?"

"Yeah,"

"Sorry about that, so according to the X-ray scan, it shows that you have an hairline fracture, just a little crack in your knee cap. I'm here to speed up your recovery,"

"Thanks, so when I'm I getting out of here,"

"That depends on you Aurora, you can choose whether to remain in the hospital or complete your therapy at home but I assure you it won't be easy. You see an hairline fracture takes approximately six to eight weeks to completely recover,"

"Six to eight weeks? that's a long time. God I can't believe I'm going through this because of you!" I pointed at Troy.

"I'm not in the mood for this. I'm outta of here," he said and walked out.

"Hey, I didn't verify this signature," I yelled after him. Why am I on this bed? I wish I could give him a knock on the head.

"Bastard, who knows if this signature is real?"

"Geez, Aurora, you are crazy,"

"I'm not. I'm just being careful besides Mr. Clemson said he was gonna make sure I never get a job in high-paying company so I had to seize this opportunity. This may be my only opportunity of getting a job."

"Oh, now I understand. Just focus on getting better, you will surely get the job besides, he doesn't look like someone who wouldn't keep to his words,"

"He better not mess with me or I will strangle him,"

"Easy bestie. I told you he's my dream husband, please don't kill him for me,"

"I can still kill him you know besides you guys only got married in the dream." Miss Anna chuckled at my words

"Aurora! I can't believe you,"

"Sorry bestie, but it's true. I bet you guys have dream children too,"

"Miss Aurora, I never know you were this funny," she chuckled.

"Yeah, she likes making fun of me sometimes,"

"That's why I'm your bestie," I grinned.

"So, Miss Aurora would you like to compete your therapy at home or in the hospital? Mr. Troy already paid for everything"

"Of course he has to pay, he put me in this condition and I'm gonna go home to complete my therapy at home. I hate hospitals,"

"That means you would have to use compressive brace on your knee to walk for the first one week, you will have to use a clutches to walk, avoid strenuous exercises, and house chores, and lastly you must eat nutritious food rich in Calcium and Vitamin C. That won't be a problem cause I already prepared a diet plan for you,"

"So, I literally have to change my diet. Hope Troy paid for this too?" I muttered the last part.

"Well, he did,"

"He did?" I asked surprised.

"Yes, that means the hospital will now be providing for all that you eat through out your recovery period. Kindly go through your diet plan and on it, you would also find your physical therapy schedule and days of your check up at the hospital." She gave me a large printed paper. I didn't bother reading it, I just gave it to Sophie.

"When am I getting discharged?"

"Today, we still have to monitor your condition for a while, then you are free to leave,"

"Ok, thanks. I think I will go through the schedule later,"

"No problem Miss Aurora. I need to attend to other patients,"

"OK," she smiled before walking away. I like her, she looks nice.

"Looks like this Troy is a blessing in disguise," she giggled.

"Shut up Sophie. I really don't know if he brainwashed you or something," 

"I'm just saying the truth, we get to eat free food for about six weeks. Try to show some appreciation Aurora," she pouted.

"Well, it's his duty. After all, I won't be changing diet if he didn't hit me with his car!"

"Whatever. Since he is going to be your boss, how about wooing him for me," she grinned stupidly. That's how she is anyways, she's attracted to cute guys and the worse part is she actually has a boyfriend. 

Sophie is complicated but I love her still after all, she's my bestie and a guardian to me.

"You know I would never do that. Woo him yourself besides you've got a boyfriend remember?"

"You are such a killjoy," she muttered.

"I'm only saying the truth." 

I smiled but the smile on my face disappeared when I saw Gustavo one of the bastard that cheated on me. He's actually the recent one. 

What is he doing here? How did he know I'm here? I hate him so much and the sight of him makes me wanna puke. He disgust and irritate me, words can't describe how much I hate him.

I told him about my past relationships with other guys, but he said he was different. I loved and trusted him. He promised never to break my heart, always to make me happy, but he broke that promise the day he cheated on me.

He didn't just break my heart, he ripped it into a thousand pieces until they was nothing left. I can never love any man again that's because I don't have a heart to love. That heart has been destroyed already.

"Aurora, I'm sorry. I should never have cheated on you. My life hasn't remained the same after we broke up. I want you back,"

"Really? I accept. I have been waiting a long time for you to say that so we can finally be together," Sophie gave me a weird look knowing where I was headed.

"Really? Thanks for accepting me babe. I thought you were still mad at me," He made to hug me but I pushed him off.

"Why did you do that?"

"You really are stupid Gustavo. Why would I want you back after all that you did?"

"Aurora I'm sorry. I..."

"Shut the fuck up you bastard. Now before I open my eyes, get out this minute. I don't mind breaking your head with this clutches,"

"Auro..."

"Get out!"

"You heard her. Leave she doesn't want you anymore,"

"But, I love you,"

"Yeah right, shove your love in your fucking dick cause I don't need it. Now leave?"

"I'm so..."

"Get out?"

"Fine. I'll leave," he said sadly and left. His emotions don't affect me at all, I lost my heart already.

"I think that was kinda of harsh,"

"Don't tell me you're the one who told where I was?"

"No, I didn't. I'm as surprised as you are,"

"OK. Gustavo is sick to think he would have me back."
