Chapter 4: New Instructor

~Axthon

It's already eight o’clock, Trinity is getting impatient waiting for her to arrive. I catch a glimpse of Seth’s scowling face while tapping the armrest of his leather couch impatiently. I didn't bother talking to him, cause judging by the look on his face, he'd behead me in no time if I said anything.

Trinity pace back and forth as they wait for her on the Battleground. I'm wondering if she withdrew. Trinity Gang is a tough opponent; they are ranked second in UC. I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't show up tonight and we just wasted our time coming here. I'm curious what she'll look with a tattooed face. I've seen a lot of tattooed women, and not one of them were attractive.

It's not that I'm racist or anything; it's just my opinion.

We are in the Battle Arena's very top side viewing room. This box was protected by a bulletproof glass wall and a metal door. Nobody else comes here except us. This room provided us with 360-degree visibility of the arena from this vantage point.

Already fifteen minutes had passed, and she was still nowhere to be found. What happened to her?

Perhaps we're wrong about her.

Perhaps the information we received was fabricated.

Perhaps she isn't as strong as we believe.

"This is bullshit! Tsk! It was a complete waste of my time." Seth expressed his dissatisfaction. I can't blame him; he's pumped to be here. I'm not sure why he's drawn to this girl. He stood up by slamming his hand on the armrest of his chair. Raynel's brows quirked as he looked at me.

I stood up and went to the bar counter, where I poured myself a vodka. Raynel sighed and joined me, helping himself to a can of beer. The announcer said something before Seth reached the metal door.

"If she doesn't show up in a count of five, Trinity Gang will win by default." The announcer's amplified voice echoed.

It appears that we have come here for naught. Tsk.

"Five." Seth began walking towards the private exit as the crowd began counting.

"Four." I gulp down my vodka, pour another, and lean back on the counter stool.

"Three." Raynel was scrolling through his phone and grinning like a fool. Idiot.

"Two." We'll, time's up. It's nearly impossible for her to make it. What are the odds could she possibly have? She only had a split second to present herself. I drank the last shot of vodka and then went to where Seth exited.

"On-" The countdown came to an end with a loud crash exploded from the battleground. Everyone came to a halt, including me, who was about to open the metal door.

I quickly turned around and dashed towards the glass wall. When I looked down at the source of the commotion, I saw the shattered large window glass from the arena's left side. Flying bike barge in the style of a motocross show.

Everyone was taken aback by what had happened. As the bike landed and drifted across the dirt-covered battleground, it kicked up a cloud of dust. We couldn't see who was behind it since the it obscured our vision for a moment.

Until the it gradually dissipated and our vision became clearer. The bright purple hair is the first thing I notice, the dust finally settled back on the ground. It reveals a woman dressed in a black leather coat, white crop top with red smudges on it down to the exposed skin on her mid section.

Even from this view, I very well know that it was blood.

Finally, my gaze was drawn to her face, and I caught a glimpse of her infamous tattooed face. My gaze is now directed to the large screen that hung in every corner of the arena to examine the details of her image.

Her tattoo has strange details on it.

"It's her." Raynel said next to me. I was too preoccupied with her to notice Raynel creeping up beside me. Isn't it obvious?

"Stating the obvious, Orc?"

“In case you didn't know.” He shot back. I brushed him off and returned to my seat.

The metal door open and I didn't need to turn to see who it was. Raynel and Seth both took their seats back.

Raynel whistled as he settled down. "Whew, she's hot."

“That was quite an entrance.” said the announcer, breaking the silence.

“Looks like there's going to be a fight after all.” He continued, and the audience laughed.

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Welcome for tonight's main fight. In the left corner, the three members of the Philippine Underground City rank number two and our defending champion. Please help me welcome!!! The mercenaries! The bloodthirsty beasts! The triumvirate! THE TRINITY GANG!”

The crowd applauded as the Trinity Gang walked into the center ring, their fist banging against their chest. When the announcer spoke again, the noise died away.

Even though the Trinity is ranked second, they never challenge us, but even if they do. They weren't going to stand a chance.

“And there's the lady who just broke the arena's glass window in the right corner. The challenger for tonight. Let me introduce you to the assassin, the dragon-eyed lady! VIOLET!”

After the announcer introduced her, the cheers were replaced with boos. She simply salutes the moving camera, unconcerned about the verbal assaults directed at her.

I can say that she is the true definition of a living doll as I look at the monitor where they focused her face.

Dude, she's stunning.

She had this adorable defined nose, rosy cheeks, reddish plump lips, and moon pale skin. Even pimple will be afraid to touch her skin. Other girls would die for her hourglass body shape and curves. Her doe-shaped eyes caught my attention, her unusual pair of eyes.

Those slitted irises and purple-colored pupils, which resembles a dragon's eye. The tattoo that settled on her lower cheek complemented her fiery appearance. Normally, I do not appreciate women's beauty, but I must admit that this girl is ravishing.

"I've seen her before." Seth stated flatly.

"Where?" He didn't respond, as if he was still deep in his thought.

The gang said something to her that I believe wasn't nice, but she just smiled sweetly. displaying her perfect set of porcelain white teeth. She, then nodded, and the fighting began.

~Violet

"Oh, you're the famous tattooed girl we heard about, it's a shame to see that pretty face of yours will vanish to this world." One of them said softly, with a smirk on his face.

I recognize him as the Trinity Gang's first member, codename Flame. Before I challenged them to a fight, I did some research to learn more about them.

"You can just leave now and spend the night with us." A man with shaggy hair added. Flare, the Trinity Gang's second member.

I keep my face expressionless and let them do the talking. Let's see if they're still able to open their fucking mouth after this.

"Pretty girls like you should be in bed right now getting some beauty rest." A silver-toothed man grinned from ear to ear. He brushed his tongue against his silver-plated teeth.

I grimaced on the inside, but kept my face cold and devoid of emotion. Trinity Gang member number three: code name, Fire. Their names were as ridiculous as their beat ass fucking ugly faces.

To be honest, they don't actually have ogre faces, but they're also not particularly attractive. For my standards.

I simply ignored what they said and instead gave them a wide, sweet smile.

The smile I usually give my targets. It's what I called a sweet smile of death.

I nodded to the announcer, as a queue that we were ready.

“LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUMBLE!” The announcer let out a thunderous roar.

We're in the middle of what they're calling a battleground, but it's really just a fighting ring. They just have a thing for naming the things around them.

From another point of view. It was a technically an unfair fight. One girl versus three men, the odds were small, and the word fair does not exist in this place. That's all I know. The thought makes me smirk.

Well, then let me be that odd.

Flare was the first to strike with his Katana, a Japanese sword. He whipped it at me, which I easily avoided. He swings again, and I dock, sidestepping to avoid his incoming kick.

"Boo!" The audience shouted but I pay them no heed. Flame crept up behind me and were about to snap my neck, but I dropped to my knees and slid underneath him.

"How long are you going to last, bitch? Quit dodging, let them kill you!" Another voice in the crowd yelled louder than the others. When Fire grabbed my feet, I scooped up a handful of dust and threw it in his eyes, causing him to stumble back.

"Weak!" A voice yelled, drowning out the echoes of the crowd. Weak.

It hit something inside me.

The thing that I always keep deep down inside.

If I hadn’t been weak that time, I could have save us both.

Weak.

The word I despise the most. Every time I hear it, my blood boils.

I get to my feet and take a stance.

Playtime’s over.

Flare threw his katana in my direction, specifically aimed at my head, and I remained motionless. I just waited for the katana to get close. I tilt my head slightly, then catch the katana with my two fingers and toss it away.

We're both weaponless now, and he has nothing to hold onto. He was taken aback for a moment from what I did but it didn’t last long. He dashed towards me, his fist aimed squarely at my face.

Unfortunately, his movements were too slow for my liking. As his fist neared my face, I saw the pointy studs on his rings. Tsk! I see he wants to play dirty. Guess that I, too, am unable to say no to my babies. He wants to have a dirty game? Then let's do it that way.

I quickly crouched and simply removed the dagger from my boots, and when I stood up, I stepped to the side and turned around behind him. I press the dagger against his neck, my other hand swiftly running down to his back, trailing his spinal cord. When I found the spot, I thrust my hands into it, snapping his column. When I hear the satisfying crack,

I smile. At the same time, I slashed his throat. I did that too quickly, and I'm pretty sure no one clearly able to follow my moves, they’ll need a slow-motion recap to see what I just did. I drop Flare's lifeless body and turn around to face the remaining two.

When they saw Flare's body slumped on the ground with a loud thud, everyone who had been cheering for the Trinity gang fell silent.

They are all stunned at the moment. Not believing that Flare was now sprawled at the ground lifeless, blood pooled from his neck.

Flame and Fire both have a rage took over in their eyes as they stare at me. I simply smirk at them. I motioned with my index finger, as if daring them to come closer.

"Oh come on boys, don't be afraid, I was just stretching; did the pretty girl like me shake your asses?" I heard Fire growl, which made my smirk grow even wider.

“Opsie! I'm sorry for your loss. Condolences, by the way. Just pray for him. If, you're still breathing after this.” Their faces flushed as I taunt them, and I could almost see smoke bursting from their noses.

They should have been more careful. They should not have underestimated and be deceived by appearances. Tsk! Too much beauty can also be a monster in disguise.

"Argh!" yelled Fire and Flame as they charged.

I didn't move from my spot, as if I'm waiting for them to hit me.

Hah! As if!

When their blows were close enough, I blocked Fire's punch with my elbow and kicked Flame's midsection until he flew arm spans away. I turn to face Fire and grab his fist, twisting it so tightly that his body bowed down. My knees meet his jaw at the motion. A sickening crunch echoed, and blood spurted from his mouth.

Flame rose to his feet in my peripheral vision, ready to charge at me. I quickly kick Fire's midsection before he can fight back. He rolled a few feet away from me as Flame threw another weak punch. I sway to the left, and his punch landed in the air from where I was. My elbow collided with his back, causing him to fall.

They were both groaning as they lay on the ground. Tsk! That was easy, I had my part and no need to kill them.

I turned away from them and prepared to leave, but I felt someone approaching me. Before I could turn around, a large calloused hand grabbed both of my hands and pinned them tightly in my back. Inside the arena, people begin to scream again.

Tsk! Maybe I’m a little bit wrong about the not killing part. My mistake for turning away while the fight was still going on. Silly me.

"You bitch killed Flare." He gritted his teeth on my ear. I twisted my head slightly, catching a glimpse of silver inside his mouth.

Oh! It is Fire who has me constrained. I didn't struggle or show any emotion.

"It's not my fault he's weak." I said blankly. Flame returned to his feet as well. I found the katana that I threw a while ago. It lay still on the ground, unnoticed.

Enrage, Flame approached me.

"This is for Flare." He spat as he throw a punch on my face.

I use Fire's strength as a pillar and lift both legs to block his incoming punch before it hits me. I wound my legs around his arm and twisted it until I heard a crack, which meant I had broken his bone and kicked his chest as hard as I could.

The impact causes Fire to lose his balance and fall to the ground. I was dragged with him because he wouldn't let go of my hand. When I fell with Fire, I smacked my head into his face.

He instantly let go of me as he grunted in pain, clutching his broken nose. I rolled over to the other side and found the thing I just needed to finish them off.

Looks like luck’s with me tonight.

A loop of smile form on my face as I see my reflection on it.

I grab the katana in front of me, I raise it above my head and plunge it into Fire's chest. I thrust it hard and twist it roughly until he spits blood through his mouth, then I pull the katana from his chest.

He groaned as his last breath left him. Still, not yet satisfied, I plunge the blade straight back to his chest again. His lifeless body jerk up and down as I did it over and over till I’m contented.

I turned to face Flame, the katana still in my hand. He is now curled up on the ground, his arms were bent in an awkward angle. He tried to fight but he couldn’t move his hand. I stab his right leg in case he’ll kick me and did the same thing to the other. He cried as the tip of my blade pierce his skin. In one swift motion, I grabbed his collar, slides the blade to this throat and ripped his head off.

Everyone fell silent, and my clothes are now stained with their blood. Flame's blood mixes with Fire, dripping down my arms as I kneeled down and took his head.

With all my strength I hurled it into the crowd, it soar up across the arena. They all follow their gaze to the top tier where it landed. The silence was deafening at first as the head bounces on the floor.

"That was one unexpected bloody fight." The announcer exclaimed, breaking the silence.

"Bloody indeed." I replied, even though I knew he didn't hear me. The crowd was still stunned that a petite woman like me had taken down three large men in front of them.

"The new champion, the new UC rank number two!" Let's hear it for VIOLEEEET!" The announcer regained his composure and declared me as the new Rank Two, but I don't want to be in the second rank.

I want to be on top.

Just for fun.

Then as if somebody pushed the power button on. The crowd roared.

"Violet!"

"Violet!"

"Violet!"

People were yelling.

Then something caught my attention, three people inside in a glass box room in the upper section. Amazement were plastered on their faces, except, for the guy sitting on the couch who didn't seem pleased with my victory.

Tsk. Such a mood killer.

"What can you say, Violet?" The announcer, who is now with me on the battleground, asked as he handed me the microphone.

I took it.

"I just want to say something to them." I say, pointing to the glass enclosure above.

“That I want you to challenge me to a fight with this week.” I may sound crazy, but I'm not going to take the easy way out.

"If not, all hell breaks loose." I threatened, and the crowd cheers again.

At first, I like them cheering on me but starts to annoy me now. Seriously? Is there someone who tells them when to shout and cheer and when to keep their fucking mouth shut? They would all shout and then shut up at the same time.

The announcer nodded, as if he was at a loss for words.

"Who are those?" I asked quietly, even though I already knew who they were. I just wanted to know their current status here.

"That’s Xepthys Assassins, top rank in UC." he replied. I nodded, intrigued.

"What's his status here?" I inquired, pointing to the handsome grumpy-faced guy. Staring down on me.

"He's the King of the Underground City."

Hmm... Now that’s interesting.

~Tricia

Oh my goodness!! I'm running late again. My class is scheduled to begin at eight-fifteen AM, but I am already twenty minutes late. Who the fuck invented the fifth floor? Can anyone tell me who? So I can skin him alive! And if he's dead, I'll bring him back to life and kill him again!

Gosh!

As I reach the door of our classroom, I entered without knocking.

"I'm sorry Ma'am, I'm late." I blurted while bowing, without bothering to took at my Facilitating Learning instructor.

My classmates laugh at me.

Huh? What’s wrong?

“It looks that you are unaware of Mrs. Suasola's retirement, and for the record, do I appear to you as a ma'am?”

What the fuck? Mrs. Suasola has had a male voice since when?

I immediately looked up and stood up straight. When I saw the speaker, my eyes widened. In front of me is a handsome man. By the looks of him, he wasn't much older than me.

He's a foot taller than me, with an arrogant aquiline nose, thick eye brows, pinkish thin lips, and a sharp jaw line, and his hair was cropped in a military cut that suited him perfectly. He also spoke with a European accent. I focused on his bluish-gray eyes before moving my gaze to his muscular body.

Oh my goodness! Another angel had fallen?

I found myself drooling over this very attractive man.

"Miss?" He snapped his fingers in front of me, bringing me back to reality.

"Ah-hm, sir?" I said, emphasizing the sir part. Indicating that I regard him as a Sir rather than a Ma'am.

"Can you tell me your name?" He inquires, leaning both hands on the desk.

"My name is Patricia Willsmith Sir, and I am deeply sorry for being late." I said this while bowing again.

"It's all right. By the way, my name is Jacob Stan, your new instructor in this subject." He said, motioning with his hand for me to take my seat.

"Thank you sir." I mumbled and made a beeline to my seat.

Gracious goodness! That was embarrassing.

"What happened, Tricia? And why are you late?" Jaffy asked as I sat down.

"I slept late last night."

"Why?" Miette’s brow furrowed.

This is one of the cons of having friends. Their nosiness are annoying, but I don't mind. They're the first ones who befriended me.

"Insomnia." I say in response to their questions. They both nodded.

"Girl, I think you should really take more vitam-" Jaffy was about to finish his sentence when the door burst open.

All of our attention was drawn to the open door, which had become slightly loose on the hinges from the impact.

Seth stormed in, followed by his two confused friends. He walked right up to me and grabbed my left arm, causing me to jerk out of my chair.

My soul nearly left my body.

"Hey—" He cut me off before I could say anything.

"Who the hell are you?" he asked, glaring down at me.

What the? What’s the matter with him? I tried to pull my hand away from him, but he gripped it tightly. I look at him, taken aback.

"What are you talking about?"
