Chapter 12 – Grieving my lost life

As soon as I get out of the shower, I grab a towel and dry myself off. Leaving the bathroom, I go to the dresser. I pull out a pair of black jeans shorts from one drawer, my underwear from the other, and a pink sleeveless sweater shirt from the closet. After that, I turn around and get dressed. Once I have my sandals on, I leave my bedroom.

As I walk down the hallway, I see Alora and silence her before she says anything. As I gazed down at the ground and fought back more tears, I said, sadly, "I need today to grieve the loss of my former life with my human parents and my friends, and then we can begin again tomorrow. If you don't mind Alora?".

Alora nods sympathetically and says, "Okay."

When I pass her down the stairs, I make a bagel with butter and go outside. While it is still dark outside, I walk to the lake with the beautiful waterfall that still glistens in the dark. I fall asleep on the grass while listening to the waterfall.
