ONE HUNDRED AND NINE

Jenny sat in her car, a worried look on her face as she rubbed her forehead tiredly. She scrolled through her phone, clicking on Ashley's number, dialing it and placing the phone close to her ear. She willed Ashley to pick up. After three rings, Ashley answered the call.

"Jenny!" she said. "How are you?"

"Hey Ash. I've been trying to reach you since yesterday night."

"Oh. What's up?"

"I have a problem," she said. "I went to Jayden's house last night to tell him I was pregnant."

"Did he believe it?" Ashley asked.

"I don't even understand. At first, he was so bothered. He even suggested that if I didn't want the baby, I can do anything I want with it," Jenny said.

"He said that?!" Ashley exclaimed. "Oh wow. That's a......"

"Blow in my face?" Jenny completed. "Yes, it certainly was. I was so offended. I'm sure if it was Diane, he would not hesitate to accept her. Ugh."

"So, what did you do?"

"I tried to convince him that it was true. He said he wasn't ready to marry or be a father."
