Chapter Three

"You were great earlier, Serena! Did you see Fridman's face?" Sidney asked happily when we reached our room.

I also smirked in my mind but chose to be silent, "Can you guys please not talk about him? Show some respect for Skye. You know that no matter what happens, Dom is still her brother and blood is thicker than water, you know that," I whispered. I kept Skye from hearing the bad things they were saying about her older brother.

Grimacing, Sunny sat next to me while Sapphire and Sydney were behind me, and behind them was Skye who preferred to be alone in the chair. She doesn't want a noisy seatmate.

"It's not funny what that Dominique did. Two years is not a joke! You were boyfriend and girlfriend for two years and then he just threw everything away so easily? Another thing that really annoys me, among the many beautiful women scattered around here on campus, is why Chelsea Lavigne?! OMG! Give me some air, I can't breathe!" she fanned herself sassily with her hands as her eyes stick.

Chelsea Lavigne is known as a campus whore because of the countless number of boyfriends she had at the university. It's such a slap to me that Dom dumped me and choose her.

"Let's not talk about them, Sunny. I also want to move on and I can't do that if we remain affected by their relationshit. Just let those two animals love each other," I answered fatly.

Sunny's lips twitched, "Okay. As you said!"

After a second, our terror professor Mrs. Carmela Batumbakal arrived. She was carrying her laptop as she stood in front of us.

"Students, I know some of you are having a hard time in my subject. Even so, I will not allow even one of you to fail. If I have to burn your eyebrows to graduate, I will. I don't want to be embarrassed because of this batch, do you understand me?" she said in an emphatic voice.

"Yes, Prof," we responded weakly.

"Anyway, let me introduce to all of you your new classmate. Mister Peterson, come in."

A familiar man entered. I searched in my mind where I saw him but I couldn't remember. Also, he looks like a bastard, because he has cuts on his face.

"Hi, classmates. I know you're bothered by my appearance today, but trust me, I am not a bad person. I was just a victim of people hanging out last night while I was walking home. I'm sorry."

My doubts disappeared with the man's explanation.

"Oh, Mama! He's handsome, Bitch!" Sunny whispered to me. I simply elbowed her. She's transforming into a flirtatious witch again.

The man looked at both of us. Our eyes met and something suddenly hit my chest causing me to tremble.

Suddenly, my memory flashed back to what happened last night including the memory of the man in front of us. The guy I flirted with last night!

"M-Marcus?" I stammered.

He smiled at me.

"Do you know him?" Sunny asked. I can not talk. I think I'm damned.

"Anyway, I'm Marcus Peterson. I'm so excited to get along with you guys!" The man bowed slightly.

"You can sit over there, Mister Peterson." The Prof pointed to the empty chair next to Skye.

"Prof, can I have a request? Can I just sit next to Miss Dawson? We know each other. If only you agree."

The Prof slightly adjusted her tilted glasses and then shot me a critical look. I swallowed hard.

"Miss Tiktokerist, can you give your seat to Mister Peterson?" Mrs. Batumbakal asked my friend.

"Stay!" I whispered strongly to Sunny but the bitch ignored me.

"Sure, Prof! But it wasn't free. Be sure that you'll give me an additional point for my kindness," Sunny said. She took her things and then simply waved at me.

"See you later, Bitch! Enjoy your date!" then she winked.

"Sunny!" I stopped her but she was already sitting next to Skye.

"Hi!" Scratching the back of his neck, Marcus greeted me as if he was embarrassed.

"H-Hi. S-Sit down. Mrs. Batumbakal might scold you if you stand there for too long," I said casually. I focused my eyes ahead.

"I'm sorry if I suddenly disappeared last night," he said later.

I firmly gripped the ballpoint pen I was holding. I don't know how to deal with him.

"J-Just forget what happened."

I heard him gasp, "I don't want to. That night was the best thing that happened in my life, Serena. Even if your stupid boyfriend beat me up."

That's the second I turned to him, "What did you say?!" I asked in shock.

Does that mean that Dominique is the reason why his face is full of facial wounds?

"What's going on there, Miss Dawson?"

Mrs. Batumbakal asked while frowning.

"Nothing, Prof! I am just asking Miss Dawson for something," Marcus saved me from embarrassment.

"Please do it after class. I don't allow any of you to gossip during my class time," replied Mrs. Batumbakal before continuing to speak.

"Let's talk later. I want to know what happened," I emphatically said without looking at him.

I'm so mad inside. Dominique has no right to hurt people connected to me. He cut the cord that connects us so he's not allowed to touch the people around me.

After class, I pulled Marcus to the football field to see what really happened that night.

"Now, are you willing to tell me what happened? Why did Dom beat you?"

The man lifted his shoulders, "Well, he told me not to mess with things that belong to him. He also said that you are his girlfriend but I told him that you are my girlfriend too. Then that was it! He punched me and sent me away. I thought maybe you were drunk at the time so I left you to him," he told.

I clenched my fists.

"I'm sorry for what he did. But I want you to know that I didn't lie to you. Indeed, I didn't have a boyfriend at that time. Dom was just my ex-boyfriend!" I defend myself.

His smile suddenly became playful, "So, technically... You are my girlfriend." He emphasized every word he uttered while staring at me.
