Chapter 1: Childish Prank...?

Looking around, Navi was, to be frank, really pissed off and confused at what he was seeing.

Around him was a beautiful field of green grass, scattered with nice flowers of different varying colors. A few hundred yards off behind him was the start of a forest that kept going as far as his vision could go, and far off in the distance ahead, he could see the edge of what was probably a mountain or hill. Above him was plentiful of birds flying into the skies.

The entire scenery was lovely, just the kind of place he would love to travel to relax. I mean who wouldn’t want to be in such place right? But the thing is, despite the beautiful scenery his eyes had been feasting. The reason for his anger was quite simple, at least in his mind. He expected to wake up in his own room! Not some random field! There wasn't scenery like this for hundreds of miles!

"Where am I?" He whispered to himself, doing yet another slow spin to try and find some landmark he might recognize. The sun hit his sky blue eyes, as he slowly turned around. He covered his eyes with his hand in attempt to take cover from the sun’s blinding rays.

“James? Eivan? Tim?” He called out, but no one responded.

The last thing he remembered was getting together with his high school friends in his house to hang out. The first few hours had been the normal thing. They played games, drinking out themselves, talking, and just having a good time. After that, things got… blurry. As much as he wanted to imagine that this were all some dumb prank or just a stupid dream, he knew that it wasn’t the case. He knew his friends for more than ten years. Ten long ass years! And he know they aren’t that kind of person that will pull some dumb prank on him.

He pinches his arm multiple times but it didn’t wake him up at all. He can feel the throbbing effect the pain is bringing on his left arm. It only means one thing; all he was seeing is real. He’s still wearing the gray shirt and trousers he’s been wearing since yesterday. He’s wearing nothing on his feet. He rose up and stretched.

“Okay then, where the hell I am?”

There’s a minute of silence but then suddenly, a man appeared on his sight wearing a long white alb. The man was noticeably old. You can see those long white mustache and hair. He was also holding a long, huge staff. Navi had enough so he went through and interrogated the man. He must know something that Navi didn’t know.

“Who the hell are you?” he said on a high tone with his usual furrowed eye brow.

“Yow!” the old man greeted him with a wink.

Navi unexpectedly burst out laughing. As he thought, all of this is part of another stupid prank.

“Okay, okay you got me” he said as he patted the old man’s shoulders.

“It’s an April fools’ joke isn’t it? Where did ya hide your camera?” he said as he inspected the area looking for a camera.

“Come on! Show it!” he insisted

The old man just smiled and shook his head in disappointment and disappeared. He was stunned on what he saw. But disregarded it and just smiled. In his mind, all of these happenings are another childish prank executed by his friends.

Rather than stressing out himself thinking, he just continued to wander around looking for an individual that will lead him the way back to his home. Minutes and hours passed and he still doesn’t seem to find a way to get out of this mess. His feet and legs are tired and he can’t take another step. This time, Navi was really nervous. He’s still in denial thinking that this was all a prank. But it seems that he needs to accept the truth.

“Okay…” he deeply sighed

“Where am I?” Cue on his words, the old man reappeared with a very funny gesture. Both of his hands were holding the staff, as he had this malicious, yet funny smile written all over in his face. Navi wasn’t surprised this time, rather, he was scared. Scared of what might happen next. He’s thinking that he was abducted by a terrorist to make a ransom out of it or a lunatic

trying to force someone into a cult. Anything is possible so his level of nervousness increased.

“Do you want me to continue now?” the old man smile wryly

Navi shrugged. “I just want to know where I am.”

“Did you kidnap me? I’m sorry but I have no penny to give you.” He said as he raised his both arms like he was surrendering.

“No” his voice has tinge of sophistication through it.

“You have died.” He surprisingly said

“Oh not that much of a big dea-“

“Wait…” he paused

“I’m… I’m… I’m dead?” he said in amazement

“Yes. And I apologized for your death.”

Navi looked straight in the man’s eyes and calmly asked, “If I’m dead, then who are you?”

“Don’t tell me…” he paused

“You’re an alien, aren’t you?’ his eyes widened as he continued.

The Old man grinned, trying to suppress his laughter. “I guess I’m the one who you could call God in your world”

“God?” he replied back

“Yes.” He answered

“I control things and do the best for each one of the creation. I create storms, global

pandemics, wars and every disaster you could think of. All because of one reason, I need to balance out things. I need to balance things as they are. That’s a God’s duty”

Obviously, Navi still has a lot doubt in his mind. He still can’t believe all of this is happening. The old man smiled at his confused face and Navi, who was now holding his head in confusion suddenly blurted out something.

“Just tell me where I am!”

“Okay then” he then started look serious as he was preparing to tell something.

“This is the other world. The Inhabitants of this Land call this world Beaume. Compared to your original world, it is not as advanced and modern as you might expect. It’s approximately about halfway through what your world calls the medieval age. This is the time period of war between dominant countries and war against demon creatures.” He explained.

He snapped his left hand, and in an instant, brought a cup out of nowhere. He sipped a little before he continued.

“Don’t worry” He assured in a much comfortable tone

“Your Body is built stronger and more powerful than a mere human. Basically, you’re now an Immortal. You’re strength alone can take a battalion of monsters. Not even thousands of Giants and demons can graze you. That’s how powerful you are right now”

He just stood there looking at the man.

“Still won’t believe it, do you?” the old man suddenly asked. Navi, the innocent man quickly nodded in agreement.

“My Son, I do understand that you’re still confused on why all of these are happening. But you might want to think fast. I still have a lot of people to tend to” he said as he laughed afterwards.

He still remained silent with his usual poker face. Silence took over and the

atmosphere between them was too awkward. It took him nearly a minute before he responded.

“That means I’m reincarnated… right?”

“Well… you could say that.” He just said

“All of this can’t be happening! How did I die? How about my friends? Are they fine?” he shouted

The old man didn’t say a word and through the pump of his staff, there goes a ring with a red-like gem on it… and a sword?

The sword was estimated to be around 3 feet long. I believe it is what they call the Joyeuse sword. It was arguably the most powerful sword the man has ever crafted. It was made by Charlemagne, a Frankish king out of gold and gem-encrusted hilt, the blade was forged from the same ore and metal that made Durendal, a sword wielded and is also one of the deadliest in the world. Legend has it, that the sword was forged by the infamous blacksmith legend Galas, who took three years to complete. Legends also stated that it possesses the spirit of the

God of War, Ares that makes it so much powerful.

“This is the extent of my help.” He said

“This is such a precious thing to hand me. Are you sure it’s just right to give me this?” He’s still hesitant to receive such grace

“Yes. I know that my sword is in good hands” he simply said and smiled

“From today on, you’ll be taking place on this world. This will be your new home.” He added as he handed him the ring and the sword

“The rest is up to you, Son! Remember that I’m always watching in the skies!” After the final words, the man disappeared.

He completely accepted the fact the he died, although he’s not quite sure whether he left someone important behind on his original world besides his friends. So he guessed it shouldn’t be a problem.

All he had is a sword and a ring and a small, shiny mirror on his pocket. Nothing more, nothing less. In an unknown world that he had reincarnated to, what mysteries and things will he discover? His adrenaline is pumped and He’s also very nervous at the same time.

“Hmm… This is exciting!” he shouted

“What hell am I going to do now?”
