Chapter 250 : White lie

Lauren looks terrified. Her eyes have popped out and her mouth is parted in shock. I don't understand the reason behind such fear since no one from us ever threatened her or anything. We tried to reach her peacefully but she constantly kept turning us down.

I pass her a smile. "I'm sorry for showing up over here. But I need you to listen to me. It'll only take five minutes"

Her lips shiver as she steps back. In the meantime, she turns around and surges faster toward the gate.

I chase her right away. "Lauren! Lauren, wait!"

I block her way, huffing and she gazes up at me.

"I just need five minutes, Lauren", I scoff. "Why are you running away?"

"I'm not running away, Mrs. Scott", she shrugs. "It's just that I feel harassed by you guys"

I shake my head in disbelief. "Harassed? Lauren, none of us are trying to harass you by any means. We tried to contact you. Just twice. Very politely. And we just want you to give us five damn minutes"

"And you think, I'll be ready to meet you?"
