Catherine’s POV:
When I woke up, I was still lying on Damien’s strong arms. He woke up before me, and is now stroking my face gently as his eyes settled on my face.
“Rise and shine, princess. Today is your long-awaited day.” He smiled.
“You’re right,” I said and sighed. Today is also the day that I have to meet my mother and confront her. Ask her why she had lied to me all those years, why she abandoned the only child she had when she knew perfectly well about the pain of losing a part of the family, and a part of me. When I found out that my mother was alive, I was ecstatic, eager, and even excited to see her as soon as I can get back on my feet.
The fates had their ways, and eventually they led me to discover the truth behind my mother’s true identity.
