Chapter 2

“What is wrong with the both of you? Our men are there lying on the ground and you are here fighting like your life depends on it. Are you both sick in the head?” He faced Malcolm before continuing.

“You, I sent you here to call the pack doctor not fight him. What went wrong?” he said.

Malcolm bowed down to the Alpha before replying to him.

“The pack doctor refused to come with me so I had no choice but to fight him and try to drag him back to you. I tried talking to him but he still did not answer me. I’m sorry your highness, please forgive me.”Malcolm said before bowing again.

The Alpha faced the pack doctor who was now completely dressed and was still fuming about the Alpha wearing his clothes kept quiet after the Alpha asked him to talk. The Alpha was looking at him, telling him to say his part before he talked but he just kept looking at him. When the pack doctor saw that the Alpha has no intention of stopping the staring competition, he burst into fits and growled at him.

“So what? What if I decide not to come and meet you? What if I am planning to leave the pack? I lost five sons in a year. Tell me, you that you can not lead a single pack and can’t control it, tell me, what reason do I have to stay here? Was this the way your father led the pack? Was it like this when you were a little boy? It is either I leave this pack or I die here? But to treat these people, I bet you, I can’t treat anyone anymore.” the pack doctor said angrily.

The Alpha was stunned at the pack doctor's outburst. At first, he did not know about the pack doctor leaving their pack. Has it come to this! And why was he saying five sons? Did he have sons in the guard? He was trying his best to control the pack but it was spiraling out of control. He faced the pack doctor who was parading his house through the room and tapping his foot on the ground noisily.

“I offer my condolences, Abraham. I never knew about your sons and I am deeply sorry for that. But we have to treat the rest of the guards. Do not use your son's grievances to make others lose their sons and their husbands. I beg you.” the alpha said as he went on his kneel.

Malcolm was shocked. He walked to the Alpha quickly and tried to pull him up.

“Let me be Malcolm. He needs to answer us. He faced Abraham before he continued.

“Just help me. I am not using my power and position on you. I beg you. Help them and you can decide whatever you want after. I am not going to stop you please, just this one.”the Alpha begged.

The pack doctor looked at the Alpha and hissed. It was difficult for him to leave the pack like this after the Alpha has begged him. If he could use his power on him now, he would have to comply. But now he could just comply without having to do it the hard way. He would just treat them and leave the pack immediately.

“Get up. I would treat them under one condition.”Abraham said.

The alpha stood up and sat immediately as Malcolm dusted his knee caps for him.

“Why condition?” He asked.

“I would treat them and still leave this pack either you like it or not. You can’t retain me here any longer.” Abraham said.

“You can only leave until three of them show signs that they are waking. If not, you have to stay here and leave tomorrow morning.” The alpha said.

Abraham kept quiet for a while. The offer seemed great though. They were not forcing him to stay here and it was a good thing. He had been scared of them  not allowing him to leave the pack. Malcolm felt like tearing off the pack doctor’s head. How dare he give his Alpha terms and conditions? But now all he could do was just sit and watch because his Alpha asked him to calm down, if not, the pack doctor would have kissed his life goodbye a long time.

“It is fine with me.”The pack doctor said.

“Alright then.”The Alpha replied.

The Alpha stood up from where he was seated as he led the way to the place where the injured guards were kept. Malcolm had to stay back and wait for the pack doctor because he said he was packing his things and could not follow them at first. This made the Alpha stop in his track and wait for them for two minutes before they started going. The pack doctor was following him at his back acting all high and mighty because he could leave the pack now without no one disturbing him. He had no wives and family anymore so what else could still be stopping him. A guard rushed towards them and bowed to the Alpha.

“What is wrong?”the alpha asked him.

“Your highness, one of our guards stopped breathing.”the guard said.

“Which one of them?”the alpha said as his heart snaked.

This was what he was avoiding. But he still came back to meet him in the eye.

“Eric your highness.”the guard replied.

Immediately the guard said this, the pack doctor whipped his head fast to their direction.

“What Eric are you talking about? Is he fair in complexion? Does he have a gray wolf? He could be my son. Tell me, what Eric are you saying?”the pack doctor shouted at the guard.

The guard looked at the Alpha not knowing how to reply the pack doctor.

“Lead him there.”the alpha said.

The pack doctor followed the guard instantly. The toolbox he was holding dropped down on the floor immediately they got to the bed where the motionless Eric was lying on.

“Th….this….” the pack doctor stammered.
