Six Months Later…

“Wow, Luna. The baby is huge. Already measuring at 7 pounds. Are you sure, you still want to wait to find out the gender?” Asked the Doctor.

“Yes Alpha decided to wait. However, we are eagerly hoping for a boy. Either way, we will love our first child.”

The Doctor continued running the ultrasound, when she quickly froze.

“What? What is it?” Amber asked panicked.

“I need to run some more tests to be sure. It’s nothing serious, I’ve just never seen anything like this, not in my 30 years.”

“Spill it out Doc. What do you see?”

“The baby’s veins seem to be glowing. It could just be this old machine.”

“Don’t scare me like that. I thought you were going to say, the baby had another head or something like that.”

“Oh no nothing like that, however, you do need to take it easy. The baby, is large than the sack. There isn’t a lot of fluid for it to move around.  I’m afraid, too much stress might cause you to go into labor.”

After the doc finished Luna Amber returned back to the pack house. So excited to tell her love the news. Before she could knock on the Alpha’s door, she noticed it was cracked.

‘Urg! That bimbo never gives up.’

Amber heard them talking and continued to listen in.

“But Trevor… Baby. You promised I would be Luna.”

“That was before my wife got pregnant. I finally have my heir.”

“What about our child? What about my feelings.” She began crying.

“Like I have told my mother. Whoever gives me my male heir, decides who stays Luna. Now, you must go before anyone else sees you in here.”

Amber quickly ran to her room, feeling as if her whole world was doomed. If I don’t give him a male, he really is going to abandon me. I could feel the stress taking it’s toll on my body. I had to give him a male.

The months passed quickly, quicker than I anticipated. Things started seeming worse and more tense around the pack house. Tonight, every wolf could feel the effects. The one night of the year, the moon takes a break. As the hours near, I could feel the cramps creep in. At first I thought they were from the eclipse, but they intensified.

“Aaaggghhhh! The… baby!”

Clutching my stomach, when Trevor rushed in.

He picked me up bridal style and ran to pack hospital.

“The Luna is in labor! We must stop it. Wait till Eclipse has passed!” He ordered.

The whole hospital came rushing. I didn’t think they’d  be able to stop it. The pains were too close. If this was any other Lunar Eclipse, the Alpha wouldn’t panic. All the staff knew the stories, any wolf born under the Hybrid Solar Eclipse, was born without their wolf. Some never gained their wolves, while only a mere two percent, well they were lucky enough to get their wolf.

“Alpha, we will do our best.” Exclaimed the nurse, while everyone rushed their Luna to the delivery room just in case.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion. The pain became unbearable, and the Luna’s screams could be heard through out the hospital.  The doctors were busy rushing about trying to hold off her labor.

“Doctor, I don’t think we will make it. She is dilated to a 6.” The nurse said shakenly.

They all knew the Alpha’s temper. If they couldn’t stop the delivery, someone would pay.

Growing impatient the Alpha roughly grabbed a nurse’s arm as she ran across.

“What’s taking so long?” He growled out.

“Thh…they are tr… trying their best Alpha.” She replied nervously.

Shoving her arm away he scoffed angrily.

Instead of waiting patiently, Alpha Trevor followed the screams. As he neared the corner, he heard a doctor informing the nurse.

“Prep the delivery. Get the Alpha. We must get his approval. Otherwise one of them will be lost.”

“No need I am here. What’s this about one will be lost.”

The doctor nervously gulped.

“Alpha, the medications given to stop the Luna are harming the child. If we continue to push forward, you will lose the baby. If we wait any longer to deliver, the Luna and child…” he paused gathering his courage.

“They both die.” The Alpha said putting two and two together.

“Yes. So what would you have us do.”

“Save the child at all costs.” Replied the Alpha coldly.

The nurse helped the Alpha scrub in in case they needed to do an emergency C-section, then led him into the room. The Luna was covered in sweat, clawing the restraints, try to get free.

“Please, please, get him out. I can’t allow my son to perish. Please it hurts so bad.” Luna Amber screamed.

“We will. Alpha is here now. When I tell you, start pushing got it.”

One, two, three, four, just then the machine lit up alerting another contraction.

“Push Luna!” Shouted the doc.

Pushing with all her might through the contraction, she stopped as the contraction passed.

“Again!”

Time and time again she pushed, trying to deliver her child. Normally werewolves don’t feel much pain, but tonight with the moon, they were basically humans.

“Something’s wrong!” she screamed.

Just then the heart monitor went flat. The baby’s heartbeat stopped.

“Hurry save my child! Cut me open get him out!!”

The doctors had her stop pushing, and the baby’s heart beat faintly started beating.

“The cord is wrapped around the child’s throat. If you push anymore, you will strangle you baby. No matter what, don’t push.”

Luna nodded her head as the Alpha gave her hand a light squeeze.

“We will save our son.”

The nurses exchanged a look as if they knew something Alpha didn’t, however he let it slide. His priority was saving the child at any cost. The doctor’s quickly worked on getting the Luna prepared for surgery. After opening her stomach, removing the cord, the doctor finally started pulling the child out the womb.

“Congratulations it’s a…”

Suddenly the beta bursts through the door.

“Alpha! We are under attack! Hunters have breached the border!”
