Stubborn Beast

"I want to marry your sister."

Arthur clenched his fists at his words. Anger rushed in his veins as he lashed out at him angrily.

"ARE YOU INSANE?? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT ARE YOU SAYING??", he yelled in pure fury but Zachary kept a straight face.

"Listen, just because you are our Queen's brother that doesn't give you the right to yell at our King", Calix said in his raspy voice while glaring at him intensely. Everyone (except Zachary and Calix) gasped in shock.

"King of Hell?? Oh my God!!!", Ariel yelled as she was shell-shocked to know this. Calix shot her a glare.

"B-But I ca-can't let you marry my s-sister. She's an A-", Arthur babbled in fear but Zachary cut him off.

"Angel?"

He stated calmly while raising his left eyebrow. Arthur looked at him in fear as he has so calm which was not a good sign. Zachary noticed their uneasiness so he heaved a deep sigh before speaking gently.

"Listen I mean no harm. I just wanted to tell you that I love your sister very much. I just want to marry her nothing else. I am well aware of the fact that she is an Angel and I am a Demon but I don't care about these things. I just wanna-"

"No, you can't marry her", Ariel immediately butts in.

"Let the King finish first", Calix growled.

"No, you both don't understand. A Devil and an Angel can never marry. It's impossible. I mean how come your parents agreed to this. NO!!! I don't allow it. And for your information, I have already arranged my sister's marriage with Lord Ernest's son. So, it will be better that you lea-", Arthur stopped midway as he saw Zachary's eyes start changing color. His pupils turned blood-red and his chest started vibrating. Dazzling yellow sparks started emanating from his feathers while his eyes turned pure dark. Arthur unconsciously took a step back as he was scared to death. Zachary was looking too angry and scary. His whole body started shaking in anger.

“How. Dare. you?", Zachary growled viciously.

Calix also took a step back since when Zachary gets angry, he can burn anyone with his raging eyes. But he can't afford to lose his temper otherwise Diana's entire family would be reduced to thin ashes. Arthur however maintained his composure a bit and tried to face him.

"See, I don't have any idea about you. And besides, she is my sister so I have full right to think about her and decide what's right and what's wrong for her", Arthur said. Zachary took a step forward slowly.

"Don't.you.dare.talk.to.me.in.this.way", he snarled with gritted teeth.

Calix saw that situation was getting out of control. So, he came up with the only idea which would eventually calm the raging beast down.

Diana was in her room reading a book. She had no idea about the burning fire going on between her brother and her Demon Prince outside. Suddenly she felt a presence behind her. She turned around. Her eyes sparkled with joy.

"Moon Prince!!!", she chirped and ran towards him happily. Calix smiled back.

"Diana, you need to come with me", he said to her in a gentle voice. Diana frowned and shook her head making him shocked.

"No, Arthur had forbidden me", she replied with a frown.

His eyes widened as he heard her. He was surprised to see a young girl obeying her brother's words too much. He stared at her in shock.

Well, Demons were rebellious and ill-mannered. They only seem to care about themselves not giving a damn about their family. That was the same in the case of Zachary. He knew his parents will never accept Diana and even joining her inside his family could be catastrophic but still, that stubborn kid was desperate to marry her because he wanted her.

Calix stared at her for a minute thinking deeply.

Calix's P.O.V.

She is something. Zachary will never be able to make her love him back if he tries to hurt her family. He needs to win everyone's heart then only Diana will respect him. He then shook his head and smiled at her.

"Angel, your brother needs you. He is calling for you", he spoke softly.

Her eyes widened. She immediately placed the book on the bed and ran outside. Calix smirked as he watched the little girl running away hastily.

"Well, that was too easy." He scoffed and disappeared into thin air.

End of Calix's P.O.V.

Diana rushed outside only to witness black and thick smoke which was slowly galloping the whole mansion. She started coughing and her eyes turned red.

"ARTHUR!!!!"

"DIANA!!!"

Arthur rushed to her as he saw Diana laying on the floor struggling to breathe.

Zachary was startled as he heard her name and turned around. His eyes widened as he saw Diana crying while breathing heavily. He quickly snapped his fingers and fluttered his large wings. The large gust of wind swept away all the dark clouds quickly. He rushed to her.

"Is she alright?", Zachary spoke, his voice laced with worry.

Arthur instantly glared at him with blood-red eyes making him avert his gaze from him as he was only responsible for her condition. He then carried Diana in his arms and ran towards her room. Zachary kept staring at his leaving figure. He huffed in frustration.

"Calm down. I need to talk to you", Calix said to Zachary. Zachary looked at him and raised his left eyebrow in confusion.

"What's there to talk about? I didn't do it deliberately. It just...anger took over me", he spat. Calix shook his head immediately.

"No not that. I mean-"

"Can we talk King of Hell?"

They both turned around to meet the owner of this deep voice.

They saw Jerrick looking at them. They both exchanged glances with each other. Calix then nodded at him. Zachary then looked at Jerrick and nodded. "Yeah sure."

Jerrick then showed them the way. They both went along with him.

They entered a magnificent hall with lofty ceilings and a resplendent opulent chandelier hanging in between. The extravagant comfy couches wrapped up with elegant silk covers, antique and ostentatious showpieces and dazzling marble floors were just splendiferous. It had huge pillars and the wall are painted gold. It was looking very ostentatious and lustrous.

"Please be seated," Jerrick said. They all then got seated. "Would you like to have something, Demon Princes?", he said to him while smiling a bit.

"Nope, we don't eat. And I guess you wanted to talk about something.", Calix replied.

Zachary looked at the King with piercing eyes. He could read people's minds. He clearly understood that he was showing them off his wealth. His face got curved into a smirk as he read the King's eyes which were filled with pride and derision.

Angels always considered themselves the best creature in the universe. They called themselves the most beautiful and respectable community. They always looked down on Demons. They called them the ravenous vindictive beasts. Demons looked too horrible and scary. They termed them as disgusting behemoth as they used their satisfy their hunger by devouring souls which were creepy.

Zachary understood as the King of Moonland was judging them but he remained calm even though he was burning inside. Jerrick then looked at Zachary and cleared his throat a little. He crossed his legs and spoke in a deep voice.

"Listen, Demon Prince, I don't know what you saw in my daughter and what attracted you to her but I guess you both must be aware of the fact that a Demon and an Angel can never be together", he spoke while ogling at the two brunettes. Calix was about to explain to him but he got cut off as Zachary scoffed.

"And you must be aware of the fact that no one... NO ONE HAS THE POWER TO GO AGAINST THE KING OF HELL, King of Moonland." He smirked menacingly. Jerrick clenched his fists and shot him a death glare.

"I am well aware of it but-"

"But nothing", Zachary immediately cut him off. Calix held his hands as he noticed Zachary's temper rising. Zachary looked at him. Calix then gestured to let him speak. He nodded. Calix looked at Jerrick.

"Listen, our King has fallen in love with your daughter. We don't want any sort of revenge or something nor do we aspire for any fight with the Angels. He just loves her and wants to marry her."

"But you know that's not possible. Your Demons will kill my daughter", Jerrick replied, his voice cracked at last. He averted his gaze down. Calix's gaze turned soft as he saw him crying. The King then looked at Zachary who was staring at him blankly.

"Please try to make your friend understand, Calix. You know what will be the results of this marriage. I had heard that you are about to get married to the Princess of Darkness. Then why are you-"

Zachary immediately got up. His eyes turned red and his face turned dark.

"WHEN I SAID THAT I AM GOING TO MARRY HER THAT MEANS I AM GOING TO MARRY HER. WHY DO YOU ALL CAN'T UNDERSTAND?? I AM NOT GOING TO REPEAT IT HUNDRED TIMES!!! ", Zachary growled in rage. Calix got up and tried to calm him down but the King shouted back making him more furious.

"But what about my daughter?? She is so sweet and naive; she is so pure. How can I give my delicate Doll to a vehement beast like you?", Jerrick spat in anger.

"Mind your language. He is our King", Calix growled while glaring at him fiercely. Jerrick then looked at Zachary with pleading eyes.

"I am just concerned about my daughter. She won't be able to fit in your world. Please try to understand", the helpless father implored with teary eyes melting the Demon. He sighed and calmed himself down.

Zachary then walked towards the King and grabbed his hands. Calix looked at him in shock as this was the first time Zachary showed his soft side to anyone.

"I understand this is difficult for you but do trust me. I love her very much. I will protect her at any cost. Even if I have to sacrifice my life for her, I'll happily do that. And I assure you no one will be able to touch her even. She is my responsibility. I will keep her safe for the rest of my life", Zachary spoke in an earnest voice, his expressions were dead serious.

Jerrick looked at him. His eyes showed sincerity and his serious gaze clearly showed that he does love Diana too much.

"But what about your parents and-"

"You don't need to worry. You just give your daughter to me. Please...I love her", Zachary immediately cut him off.

Calix kept staring at him in shock. The Demon who only knew how to use force and power was begging someone. Unknowingly a smile crept on his face.

"She'll truly change him."

"Arthur!!!"

Diana slowly opened her eyes only to see Arthur looking at her worriedly. She tried to get up. He rushed to her immediately and made her lie down back. She stared at him in confusion.

"You okay, baby?", Arthur spoke in a worried tone. Diana nodded.

Suddenly the door burst open revealing Calix, Jerrick, Aurora, Ariel, and Zachary.

As soon as Arthur saw him, his gaze darkened. He quickly got up and marched towards him angrily.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU-"

"ARTHUR!!!", Jerrick shouted at him making Arthur confounded.

"Dad?", he whispered completely confused by his response.

"Everyone come outside. Ariel, you stay with Diana", Jerrick spoke in a stern voice earning a nod from Ariel. Calix looked at Diana. She smiled and waved at him. He smiled back and nodded.

Zachary was glaring at both of them but didn't say anything. He looked at Diana. She smiled at him also. As soon as he saw her smile, his heart fluttered. He smiled back and tried to go near her but Arthur instantly held his hands stopping him. They both glared at each other. Jerrick and Calix sighed looking at both of them who were looking at each other with pure hatred and anger.

"Let's go", Jerrick said to Arthur. Arthur slowly shifted his eyes towards Zachary and found him smirking at him making his blood boil. He turned around and walked away.

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, DAD?? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND??", Arthur

"ARTHUR!!! Mind.your.tongue", Jerrick scolded him. Arthur scoffed and shouted back. "DAD, YOU ARE STILL TELLING ME TO MIND MY LANGUAGE?? WHAT ABOUT YOU?? YOU ARE HANDING OVER YOUR BELOVED DAUGHTER TO A CATACHRESIS BOORISH MONSTER?"

"ARTHUR!!!!!"

A raging husky growl echoed in the hall which shook the entire castle. Calix glared at him, his eyes turned dark blue and his jaw got clenched tightly revealing his sharp jawline. His gaze turned dangerously dark and his aura turned deadly. He pulled out his silver sword gleaming brightly. The King got horrified and looked at Zachary in worry. Zachary patted his shoulders comforting him.

"Calix, stop it", he tried to calm him down. Calix looked at Zachary in anger and shouted.

"KING, THEY ARE CONTINUOUSLY INSULTING YOU. I TRIED TO KEEP MY COOL TOLERATING THEIR NONSENSE BUT NOW THEY HAVE CROSSED ALL THE LIMITS. NOW I AM NOT GONNA SPARE THEM!!!", he roared and marched towards him with predatory steps. Arthur also took out his sword and was about to attack him but Zachary stopped them.

"Wait Calix, I am not here to fight but to become friends with them. We are here for a marriage proposal."

Arthur huffed in annoyance.

"That's never gonna happen, I will never allow you to marry my-"

"EVERYONE CALM DOWN NOW!!!" The King of Moonland yelled fiercely grabbing everyone's attention. They all turned around and looked at him.

"I have decided to marry Diana to the King of Hell, Zachary."

Arthur looked at him in shock. His eyes widened. He shouted at him infuriated.

"DAD!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU-"

"Enough Arthur, being the Prince and the future King of Moonland, you should at least try to listen to me. You should have patience. This kind of aggressive attitude and arrogance doesn't suit an Angel. Don't act like a brazen jerk!!!", Jerrick scolded him harshly. Arthur looked down in shame and put his sword down.

"But Dad, what about my child?", he spoke in a defeated tone.

"Don't worry about her. I love her very much. She is my responsibility and...."My future Queen", Zachary spoke arrogantly. Arthur glared at him but he flashed him a cocky smirk burning him up. Arthur sighed in defeat and looked at Jerrick with teary eyes.

"Dad, you know Diana won't be able to survive in that harsh and cruel world. Please try to understand my point of view", he spoke in a broken voice. Jerrick walked to him closer and looked at Zachary. Zachary and Calix both approached him and looked at him.

"Listen, Arthur, I know you love Diana more than yourself. You treat her just like your daughter but I am also her father. I would never give my daughter to someone who will try to harm her. The Demon Prince loves her. And I am sure Diana will love him also. They are perfect for each other". Arthur looked away in anger but Zachary cupped his left shoulder making him look at him.

"I know you hate me, well I hate you more. But the fact is I love her, I do. And I will marry her...No matter what. I just assure you that you don't need to worry about her so much. I love my Queen and I took the full responsibility to keep her happy forever", he spoke in his deep voice.

Arthur stared at him. After contemplating for about a minute, he finally nodded. Calix smiled and looked at Jerrick who was also smiling at him brightly.

"Okay, but if I found a single drop of tear in her eyes or a single scratch on her body, I am gonna rip your head off and I mean it", Arthur threatened him while glaring at Calix. Calix clenched his fists but Zachary smiled back and nodded. Arthur also smiled at him and they both then hugged each other.

"Alright, I allow you to marry my sister."
