I talked to Joanna and told her that I would not be needing a maid anymore. But she doesn't have to worry because I will give her a letter of recommendation so she will be able to apply to another noble family if she wants.

She doesn't want to go at first. She keeps saying things like this and that, but I don't know what to say since I am not the one who promised her anything when she was given this job.

I felt guilty for letting her go, but I didn't really have a choice since I didn't know her origin. Also, I didn't want anybody that didn't come from an agency to enter my household. I just don't want to put our lives at risk because of someone we didn't know, someone who we didn't know the origin of, roaming around the mansion freely anytime, that's a big no-no.

I am still not sure if Count Bourbone really stops planning to kill me. So it's better to be safe as early as possible.

“You can throw that away or sell it, whatever you like.”
