Chapter 46 – Surprising her.
AIDEN
It’s been three weeks since the meeting, and Zara and I are going back to the hospital for a check-up. And she is now lying on the bed while Tessa is using the ultra scanner.
“We could have scanned you when you first came here, but we would have had to use another form for scanner. And given your history with sexual abuse, we decided it was better to wait.” Tessa explains to us, and I can see that Zara is relieved by that information. And I honestly don’t know how I would have felt about watching someone put something up there.
“Okay, here we are. Do you want to hear the heartbeat?” she asks us.
“Yes.” We both say at the same time. Tessa chuckles. But turn a speaker on.
Da-dum, Da-dum, da-dum.
The soft sound of a strong and steady heartbeat sounds from the speakers. And then Tessa turns the screen and shows us the little, and we can see what seems to be a big bean that is being shaped into a little human.
