|She was like the moon, a part of her was always hidden|
Annalise woke to her blazing alarm. She punched her phone that lay on the nightstand. But who was gonna tell the lazy ass that she had to pick it up, open her eyes, and tap on a particular virtual button to turn it off?
She groaned loudly as the alarm didn’t pause and she didn’t want to wake up. No way was Lise a morning person. In fact, she hated mornings as much as she hated seafood. The thing was, she was allergic to seafood but mornings… no. How many times had she wished that the creator of the universe, never created the daylight but when has he ever listened to her?
Groaning once again in annoyance, she took her phone squeezing one eye shut, and opening the other, she picked up her phone turned the alarm off, and slumped down on the pillow again, sighing. She had to go to school today.
“Ugh!” She said and sat up and rubbed her eyes and stretched her body to rid herself of sleep.
She slowly slid down her bed and sat down on her wheelchair which was placed adjacent to her bed, for her easy access. By this time, she was used to it. She wheeled herself to her bathroom. Luckily the sink wasn’t too high and it could be easily accessible.
She took her toothbrush and brushed her teeth. She knew if she didn’t shower now, she was going to be sleepy and grumpy the entire day in school. She stripped out of her clothes and sat down on the bench. She turned the hand shower waited till the water was perfect and sprayed herself. She loved baths. Once in, takes a long time to come out.
One of the reasons she proffered taking baths at night was because she could stay there for a really long time, without having to run to school. Since, yesterday night she spent most of her time, watching online k-pop concerts and k-dramas, she was particularly sleepy. She slept at two and had to wake up at six.
After her quick shower, she wheeled herself out to the kitchen where Mila and May both were busy.
“Good morning mom. Mila.” She said with a smile.
“Good morning, baby.” May greeted her daughter before getting back to the pancake that was on cooking on the pan.
“Lise, Toast with jam or butter?” Mila asked as the toasted popped and four pieces of bread sprang up.
“Butter Mila, mom’s made pancakes,” Annalise said as she wheeled herself to the living room took her phone clicked on N*****x, and instantly continued watching the drama from where she left off last night.
“Lise, come on. Breakfast. Liam will be here.” Her mom said and handed her the plate.
“Thanks, ma.” She said as she placed her phone on her lap, too invested to actually keep the phone aside. She blindly ate her breakfast while looking down at her phone on the lap.
“Lise, phone away,” May yelled but Annalise just hummed in response as she took a bite of her crunchy toast.
Honk!
She instantly went on alert mode when she heard the very familiar loud honk.
“Oh my god, Annalise. You have even finished your breakfast and Liam is here already. Why don’t you ever listen to me?” May mumbles a little angry.
“I’m done ma,” Annalise says and puts her half-eaten plate away. It wasn’t that she didn’t have time to eat it, it was her eating disorder, she knew she’d throw up if she ate more.
Wheeling herself to her room picking up her knapsack and stuffing it up with her books and binder, she keeps it on her lap wheels out, and opens the door, letting herself out.
“Bye ma and Mila.”
She doesn’t wait for them to reply back and shuts the door close and begins wheeling out. Liam stood out all dressed in his grey pants and white shit with his blazer atop, tip to top perfect in Eastwood high’s one-of-a-kind uniform. He was wearing sunglasses and kept on scrolling through his phone.
When he glanced up to see his Annie-bear, making his way towards him, he quickly put his phone in the pocket of his pants and walked closer to her and behind and pushed to his gorgeous red and blazing sports car.
His parents had no shortage of money and this was Liam’s one of many stunning sports cars. Liam wasn’t the person to brag about his parent's money and worked in McDonald's as a server for his extra cash. He was humble and easygoing.
“Good morning Annie-bear!” He greeted her as he wheeled her to the passenger side and helped her in. He folded her wheelchair and put it in the backside of his BMW convertible. He slid behind the wheel and drove off.
The drive to school took them around thirty minutes. And once reached, he helped Lise out and gave her a knapsack, and pushed her into the prestigious hallways of Eastwood high.
With white walls and a blue locker decorating the hallway, Eastwood high looked gorgeous. Built around the 1800’s it was one of the oldest and rare schools to give the top-most education in the city. With its Reputation for grooming world leaders and other popular business moguls, it was next to impossible to get into the school. That’s why parents started out young. The younger you are, the less tough is your admission tests. It was more like modern-day hog wards.
Annalise was once a bright student and had cleared her admission test with bright colors but what she wasn’t expecting was all the bullying she was going to get and that somewhere affected her academics and now she was just an ordinary girl who just got enough marks to keep her scholarship ever year.
The day was pretty average for her, with her avoiding everyone and staying with Liam all day long, may it be lunch or anything. They were literally inseparable.
Just when she was placing some of her books in the locker at the end of the day, Mila called her.
She didn’t waste a single second and picked up the call.
“Annalise, you have to go and get some of my money from the bank. I have a meeting now and I won’t be able to make it. Could you ask Liam to drop you off, I’ll come to pick you up. Please?” She requests.
“Sure,” Lise replied.
“Thanks, I have already informed them what to give and all, and that you'll be stopping by. Thanks, Lise.” Mila says and cuts the call.
Mila instantly texts Lise the name of the bank and the address.
“Well, Liam you have to drop me off at a bank.”
“Well, Liam you have to drop me off at a bank.” She said as Liam walked up and stood beside her, leaning on the locker.“Which Annie-bear?”“This one,” she said and showed him the address of the bank which, Mila had sent her.“The national bank? Sure.” He said handed her the phone back. Annalise smiled at him and he leaned down and pulled one side of her cheek.“Ouch!” She exclaimed and rubbed her cheek.“Don’t be so dramatic,” he said rolling his eyes off.Lise just smiled in response and Liam made his way back to Annalise’s wheelchair and held the handles on either side and began pushing her out. It was all fine, till they were ganged up by, Ayesha.“Well well well, if it isn’t the little Miss. cripple herself.” She said and circled them with her so-called ‘friends’.Ayesha was the mayor’s daughter. She had never been denied anything and had always been… bit dumb. She might have gotten to study at Eastwood high but she wasn’t up to Eastwood high’s academic standards. She was nothing
|If you don’t terrify people a little bit, then What’s the point |She looked outside deep into her thoughts. Leaning against the headrest of the black leather seats, the wind slapped her face, and thought about what Ayesha had told her.Liam stole occasional glances at her. He knew Annalise wasn’t a quiet one, she often blast loud Korean pop in the car, despite him not liking it or she’d watch some sort of k-drama with her earphones plugged in. It was highly unlikely she was doing neither. In fact, she looked bothered by something. He knew seeing Ayesha walk by his car wasn’t something to be ignored but he couldn’t help it when Lise told him it was nothing. He had been her friend for long enough to know that it wasn’t just noting. Ayesha was on Lise’s tail since middle school and he himself had shut the vile girl up many times. Not that Lise wouldn’t have done it herself, but Ayesha and her friends never gave her the chance to. With their consent mockery to bring down her self-esteem
Breathing out in fear, she opened her eyes to face her death as an arm was wrapped around her neck pressing her back against something hard and something cold was pressed against her temple, making the level of fear heighten in her.She whimpered as the metal was harshly pushed into her temple. Her vision blurred because of all the salty tears.“Oh come on, you wouldn’t want my men to empty their case in here, would you? Would you want that on your conscience governor?” Andreas’s deep and manipulative voice boomed right next to her ear. He knew the governor was known for his honest and morally high codes. So he hit the man, where it affected him the most.Andreas was a skilled manipulator, no doubt.“And I’ll start with this little kitten.” He snickers as he pushed the nozzle of his gun into her temple. That is when Annalise realized that she was going to die. From what she had seen, these people didn&rsquo
An unknown dread crept into Lise as she looked at the raging Andreas. He was shaking due to anger. His eyes burning and all he wanted to do was kill.He wanted to quench his demons with blood. The lust for the blood he carried within himself was exorbitant.Lise’s body trembled and she knew she had signed her own death sentence. Looking down at the floor, where her feet hung in the air, her toes mere touching the floor as Andreas held her tightly. He didn’t show an ounce of mercy as he held the fragile girl. She was scared and he held in a bruising way, adding more to her dread. His arm was crushing her tiny waist and she was having trouble breathing but didn’t complain. She didn’t want to make it worse for herself. She didn’t how he’d kill her but hoped it would be fast.Annalise muffles a sob when Andreas pressed her more against him, only to feel her phone against their bodies.Biting on her lower lip,
A soft groan rumbles through her body as she turned to her side and opens one of her eyes with great difficulty. Her waist hurt and so did her nape.It was as if someone hand caged her nape and waist, crushing it. A whimper escapes her lips and a lone tear slides down her eye as she parts her other eye, welcoming the artificial LED lights.“Annalise,” she heard the soft and pained voice and she instantly recognized whose it was.“Ma?” She reached for her mother frantically before May stepped in before her and dropped to her knees in front of her daughter.“Annalise,” she whispered and hugged her small body when Lise tried to sit up. May held Lise as if she’d slip away any moment. Holding her safe and securely as a mother holds her baby, trying to keep all the bad away from her child.“Oh, my Lise.” She rested her face on Lise’s shoulder and cried. Annalise was still in a daze and her eyes
“Enough.”Andreas stood up with the evilest smirk he had to offer. He stood before Annalise with his hands shoved down his pocket. His grey settled on hers while she looked down at her lap, not even looking at her mother.Liam glared at Andreas, seething. His fists clench by his sides as he looks at the man who stood before his Annie-bear.May, Mila, and Liam were worried when they found out that the bank had been under attack through the news. Liam constantly blamed himself for leaving her there all alone. He knew it was a bad idea, he had an intuition and it was proven right. But when someone rang the bell of Lise’s house, May was surprised to see a man with an extremely aura dangerous walk into their house with Annalise passed out in his arms. He laid her down on the couch and walked back and sat opposite her, with one of his ankles on his knee while he waited patiently till she was conscious again.Liam was quick to attack And
|And suddenly life wasn't about living. It was about surviving|May brought out the first aid kit and crouched down before Liam. She looked at the whimpering boy and tears hit the brim of her eyes but she tried her hardest to hold it back.Liam sat on the couch with his fists clenched. The left side of his face was swollen and unrecognizable. He had a black eye and a broken nose. His jaw was severely bruised and blood covered his lips and teeth. He wanted to rip Andreas apart for taking his friend. Though Andreas had disabled him by his constant and brutal punches, his ears were still were much able. He heard Annalise’s cries and whimpers of pain. The way he smoothly and efficiently manipulated the terrified girl was beyond him. What made him even more furious was that Andreas had no remorse for what he did.He began shaking lightly due to rage and May placed her hand on his balled-up fist, making him snap his eyes towards
Annalise tried her best not to cry. She gulped, gulped and gulped. But those traitorous tears betrayed her. Despite her best efforts, they rolled from her eyes, down the bridge of her nose, down her cheek, and finally hitting the pillow, dampening it.She didn’t like it here. She didn’t like Andreas. He was a cruel man. She was unable to look past his horrendous deeds. That kept on playing in her mind again and again like a broken record. She was still in her school uniform. Her white shirt was all crumpled and her shoes still intact. She was feeling rather cold. She so wanted to move and pull the comforter but she didn’t dare move. Andreas just seemed the person who would probably yell at messing the simplest things up, considering he has kidnapped her for calling 911.Her sobs got muffled by the pillow. Holding onto one of the pillows for her dear life, she balled her eyes out. She just wished to be home where she could be in her mother&rsquo
