Chapter 5

|She was like the moon, a part of her was always hidden|

Annalise woke to her blazing alarm. She punched her phone that lay on the nightstand. But who was gonna tell the lazy ass that she had to pick it up, open her eyes, and tap on a particular virtual button to turn it off?

She groaned loudly as the alarm didn’t pause and she didn’t want to wake up. No way was Lise a morning person. In fact, she hated mornings as much as she hated seafood. The thing was, she was allergic to seafood but mornings… no. How many times had she wished that the creator of the universe, never created the daylight but when has he ever listened to her?

Groaning once again in annoyance, she took her phone squeezing one eye shut, and opening the other, she picked up her phone turned the alarm off, and slumped down on the pillow again, sighing. She had to go to school today.

“Ugh!” She said and sat up and rubbed her eyes and stretched her body to rid herself of sleep.

She slowly slid down her bed and sat down on her wheelchair which was placed adjacent to her bed, for her easy access. By this time, she was used to it. She wheeled herself to her bathroom. Luckily the sink wasn’t too high and it could be easily accessible.

She took her toothbrush and brushed her teeth. She knew if she didn’t shower now, she was going to be sleepy and grumpy the entire day in school. She stripped out of her clothes and sat down on the bench. She turned the hand shower waited till the water was perfect and sprayed herself. She loved baths. Once in, takes a long time to come out.

One of the reasons she proffered taking baths at night was because she could stay there for a really long time, without having to run to school. Since, yesterday night she spent most of her time, watching online k-pop concerts and k-dramas, she was particularly sleepy. She slept at two and had to wake up at six.

After her quick shower, she wheeled herself out to the kitchen where Mila and May both were busy.

“Good morning mom. Mila.” She said with a smile.

“Good morning, baby.” May greeted her daughter before getting back to the pancake that was on cooking on the pan.

“Lise, Toast with jam or butter?” Mila asked as the toasted popped and four pieces of bread sprang up.

“Butter Mila, mom’s made pancakes,” Annalise said as she wheeled herself to the living room took her phone clicked on N*****x, and instantly continued watching the drama from where she left off last night.

“Lise, come on. Breakfast. Liam will be here.” Her mom said and handed her the plate.

“Thanks, ma.” She said as she placed her phone on her lap, too invested to actually keep the phone aside. She blindly ate her breakfast while looking down at her phone on the lap.

“Lise, phone away,” May yelled but Annalise just hummed in response as she took a bite of her crunchy toast.

Honk!

She instantly went on alert mode when she heard the very familiar loud honk.

“Oh my god, Annalise. You have even finished your breakfast and Liam is here already. Why don’t you ever listen to me?” May mumbles a little angry.

“I’m done ma,” Annalise says and puts her half-eaten plate away. It wasn’t that she didn’t have time to eat it, it was her eating disorder, she knew she’d throw up if she ate more.

Wheeling herself to her room picking up her knapsack and stuffing it up with her books and binder, she keeps it on her lap wheels out, and opens the door, letting herself out.

“Bye ma and Mila.”

She doesn’t wait for them to reply back and shuts the door close and begins wheeling out. Liam stood out all dressed in his grey pants and white shit with his blazer atop, tip to top perfect in Eastwood high’s one-of-a-kind uniform. He was wearing sunglasses and kept on scrolling through his phone.

When he glanced up to see his Annie-bear, making his way towards him, he quickly put his phone in the pocket of his pants and walked closer to her and behind and pushed to his gorgeous red and blazing sports car.

His parents had no shortage of money and this was Liam’s one of many stunning sports cars. Liam wasn’t the person to brag about his parent's money and worked in McDonald's as a server for his extra cash. He was humble and easygoing.

“Good morning Annie-bear!” He greeted her as he wheeled her to the passenger side and helped her in. He folded her wheelchair and put it in the backside of his BMW convertible. He slid behind the wheel and drove off.

The drive to school took them around thirty minutes. And once reached, he helped Lise out and gave her a knapsack, and pushed her into the prestigious hallways of Eastwood high.

With white walls and a blue locker decorating the hallway, Eastwood high looked gorgeous. Built around the 1800’s it was one of the oldest and rare schools to give the top-most education in the city. With its Reputation for grooming world leaders and other popular business moguls, it was next to impossible to get into the school. That’s why parents started out young. The younger you are, the less tough is your admission tests. It was more like modern-day hog wards.

Annalise was once a bright student and had cleared her admission test with bright colors but what she wasn’t expecting was all the bullying she was going to get and that somewhere affected her academics and now she was just an ordinary girl who just got enough marks to keep her scholarship ever year.

The day was pretty average for her, with her avoiding everyone and staying with Liam all day long, may it be lunch or anything. They were literally inseparable.

Just when she was placing some of her books in the locker at the end of the day, Mila called her.

She didn’t waste a single second and picked up the call.

“Annalise, you have to go and get some of my money from the bank. I have a meeting now and I won’t be able to make it. Could you ask Liam to drop you off, I’ll come to pick you up. Please?” She requests.

“Sure,” Lise replied.

“Thanks, I have already informed them what to give and all, and that you'll be stopping by. Thanks, Lise.” Mila says and cuts the call.

Mila instantly texts Lise the name of the bank and the address.

“Well, Liam you have to drop me off at a bank.”
