Chapter Three.

(Ericka's POV)

As early as dawn, I am already awake. It's the new moon ceremony for the wolves and I have to wake up early and take care of all the domestic duties, yeah. It sucks but I would very much prefer to wake up early and suffer than to be beaten by any one of those unfeeling brutes. As soon as I am awake, I leave to the kitchen, I begin to cook. I know that it'll take a super long time for me to finish cooking actually, because this time, I am not just cooking for the Alfonso Pack alone, I am cooking for the neighbouring packs too who would be coming over for the moon ceremony.

It's also the same date as Mayna's coming of age ceremony and it would be celebrated alongside the ceremony, I had heard that most probably, she would find her mate at the ceremony, go off with him and live happily ever after. I obviously did not want that to happen in any way, though I had no idea how the whole mate thing worked, I just hoped that it worked against her or something.

The previous day, the chairs and places for the ceremony had already been set, all I had to do was ensure that the chairs were clean and nothing that had been displayed was dirty. So I began to clean until I felt like my hands were going to break off by morning when the pack members had begun to come out of their houses.

Soon, I'm done with the food and the cleaning, all that is left for me to do at this time, is to tidy the kitchen and scrub the floors before I could have my peace from this exhaustion I was feeling. I would be able to take care of myself after all of these. I know that the pack members would scarcely have time for me after the ceremony, so I can take the time to relax and stuff.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I hear someone screech as I am pushed off the counter that I was leaning on, I fall disastrously and I hit my head on something placed on the ground, my eyes becomes dizzy and I can hardly hear what whoever is saying.. fuck, it must be Mayna, I think to myself, only her would do this so boldly among the pack members.

(Alpha Dane's POV)

Finally, it's the day of the new moon ceremony. I am one of the few wolves chosen in my pack to represent the pack at the ceremony since all the pack members cannot be present. We are a really large pack.

Red doesn't come with me because I ask him not to, moreover he has duties to fulfill for the pack, it seemed to be some scouting missiomnor something. I didn't pay attention to it once I found out that it was something that he could do. So while he was busy with work, I was on my way to a party.

It's not like I am going to party party, it's more like a sit down and watch till the ceremony is over and return to my pack with reports and documented observations that I have been asked to check for and note.

At the party, it's just all boring and lonely, without Red to tease me, and without me being able to watch him tease omegas, on the path to satiating his horny dick.. I roll my eyes at the thoughts of him. What a beta. I couldn't ask for a better one though. Red is perfect. I smile at this thought before deciding to shy away from the eyes of the she wolves that have been eye fucking me in their little minds. I chuckle at the thought of their fantasies with me before deciding to walk around a bit.

As I walk around a d towards the major packhouse, suddenly, I am hit with the whiff of a scent and my wolf cries out 'mate'.

Mate? Wait what? My mate???? Immediately, I hasten my footsteps until I find a small gathering, it's Mayna, according to the documents, she's the spoilt daughter of the Alpha and his Luna and she's very bratty. Wait, is she my..? Before I can complete this line of thoughts, my eyes widen when I realise that my mate is the one crumpled on the ground and almost unconscious. What the hell?

In my rage for what is being done to my mate, I push off Mayna and the other wolves in my way as I pick her up, my mate and rush to the pack Hospital to get her taken care of. After so long it waiting to find my exceptional mate, this is what is going done to her? I am really enraged.

She is taken care of by the pack doctor who does not even seem to recognize her. I don't give that a second thought though I had no idea that she is the pack slave and she mainly stays in the pack master's house, so the doctor wouldn't recognise her anyway since she had never been taken for treatment.

Thank goddess, she is nursed back to life and the first thing she sees when she opens her eyes is me.

At this moment, the first thing I say, without offering any explanation to her, Ericka, I'd learned her name in the one and half day that she had been unconscious...

"I, Dane Entrida, alpha in the Enchil pack, hereby reject you, Ericka Zander, as my..."

I'd found out that she was a bloody human. How beautiful, moon goddess to actually do this to me. My fated was human??? After all the long wait and anticipation!

Alpha Dane pov.

I sighed frustratingly, why should my own date be different, my mate, a human, this is so insane, the lady gave me a questioning look, with her cute eyes, indeed beauty lies with her, but she can never be my mate.

I stormed out of the room angrily back to the ceremony, I need to cool my head, I need to meet the moon goddess,

Here comes Red, maybe he can make things cool or even worst.

"What's up the great Alpha Dean?"
