She was married. The ring on her finger that I thought was just a show wasn’t a show, actually; it was the symbol of her being with another man. Or should I say the ring was evidence of her being the wife of whatever stupid man he was? It was the latter one, of course.

Also, there was a baby. Their baby, Lauren, and her fucking husband’s baby. She had already moved on in life, enjoying her happily ever after in a foreign country, where I was pinning over her like a fool. I was a moron for falling in love with that woman. I kept her alive in my memories even after she left me, vanished in the dark with no answers. There were so many questions I wanted to ask her, but it looked like I did not need them anymore since she wasn’t mine anymore. There was another man in her life who apparently had the title “husband,” which was once mine.

While she was already in a different phase in her life, I confessed my love to her. Fucking great. She was probably laughing about this with her new husban
