Chapter Twenty one

Adam comes out of the room all dressed in a blue shirt and black shorts, and when he sees the lady, smiles at me and holds out his hand to the woman in front of us.

"Payton," he turns to me, "this is Bunny. The most important person in my life." She was putting on a peach coloured long dress with a gold belt.

Bunny scoffs and rolls her light brown eyes. "Adam, please. Your wife should be the most important person in your life. Or is there trouble in paradise already?" She sneered.

I obviously look taken aback, because Adam hurries to change the subject. "Do you need help with your bags?" He queried.

"Do I look like I need help?" She spat, her brows furrowed in a frown.

Adam rubs his neck, a little flustered. "Umm. . . No?"

"Damn right I don't. I've carried them all the way here by myself, I think I can manage to get these to the guestroom," she grabs her bags– which is mainly a medium sized box and a little travelling bag– and leaves in a huff, her brown wavy hair swinging with each
