Chapter 4

I pushed him hard that he went tumbling on the floor. He clearly didn't expected it and fell. I gasped as my eyes widened. I knelt down almost immediately to see if I had gotten him injured. “Oh, my God! Are you okay? I'm so sorry. I-I didn't mean to do that! You had taken me by surprise I was so shocked that I pushed you. Oh, God. I'm really s-sorry,” I said, panicking as I inspected his state.

He shook his head, smiling a little bit. “I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me,” he spoke earnestly, making me snapped my head at him. His cheeks were painted with a light shade of pink and his eyes were sparkling with happiness. I almost arched a brow if I wasn't just worried about him.

“Are you sure you're fine?” I asked again. The way I pushed him wasn't that hard but it wasn't also that weak. I had literally almost pushed him across this building!

Reui cleared his throat as his expression changed. “Actually, I'm not fine. I think I had my bones broken,” he uttered.

A loud gasp escaped my lips.

“W-What?” I nervously asked as I felt my whole body went cold. I looked at his pained face and searched over his body to see where he had possibly broken a bone. “W-What should I do? Should I call 9-1-1? Please, tell me what to do.”

I honestly couldn't think of anything else. I was panicking, nervous, and damn worried.

“There is something you could do though,” said by Reui.

“What is it?” I inquired quickly.

“Kiss me,” he said and puckered his lips.

Confused, I asked, “H-Huh? What, why?”

“Didn't you know it? Your mate's touch and kiss could heal every pain you're feeling,” he emotionally said and then groaned as if he was badly hurting. “Aww! I think I'm gonna die!” he exclaimed.

Without a second thought, I cupped his face and pressed my lips against his in a quick kiss.

Pulling away, I looked at his eyes. “I-Is that okay? Are you alright now?”

He blinked his eyes as his ears turned red. “Y-Yeah, but not too okay. I think I need one more kiss.”

So, I did and kiss his lips again.

“A-Again,” he said.

I nodded my head and leaned down to press our lips. He closed his eyes and heave a deep breathe. “Again...” he whispered.

“I've already kissed you a lot of times. I think that's enough,” I whined and frowned. He slowly opened his eyes and smiled in mischief.

“Yeah, I feel good now,” he said and nodded his head. “But to make sure I'm finally okay, one last kiss would be great.”

I pouted my lips, looking at him flatly. “Are you kidding me?”

“I'm afraid, not.”

I groaned and rolled my eyes. “Fine!”

I put my hands on the back of his head and pulled him close to me until our lips crashed. His lips was incredibly soft and sweet for a muscular man like him.

I pulled away, panting. “That. Is that okay?”

A huge smile broke into his face. “Yeah. Thank you.”

I helped him as he stood up. I was kinda guilty for pushing him hard. I was shocked and wasn't in control of my strength. As a werewolf who grew up surrounded with weak humans, I wasn't trained like some other werewolves. I have met someone like me, a rogue, but they lived in a pack once before they're kicked out. While me? I wasn't been in a pack. I wasn't as skilled like them. Heck, I can't even control my own strength and I rarely shift.

“Let me help you with that,” he offered, pointing the luggage in my hand.

I shook my head. “I can handle it.”

“No, I insist. Let me help you–” I cut him off.

“I said, I can handle it. I don't need a help. I don't need your help.” I emphasized the words ‘your’ to let him know that I meant what I said. If he thought that I am one of those damsel in distress woman, then he must think twice. I could survive without anyone helping me to live.

Alpha Reui pursed his lips and nodded his head forcefully. “Okay, then.”

I silently thanked him for not insisting further. I really hate it when guys thinks that women can't do things that men does.

We went out of the apartment and I locked the door behind. I've also pulled out all the appliances before I left. I don't know when I'm gonna be back but this apartment was rented by me for two years.

And I've stayed here for half a year already.

We walked down the stairs. I turned to the left and walked on the hallway where would leads me to Anastasia and her daughter's apartment.

I knocked on the door and after a minute or two, Analyn opened the door and smiled brightly at me. “Good morning, Katia! How may I help you?”

I cleared my throat and looked away, feeling a blush creeping to my cheeks. She's just... pretty.

“Hi, Analyn. Uhm... I'm going somewhere. Can you do me a favor? Can you look over my apartment while I'm gone?” I said shyly. I felt a presence standing behind me and I immediately knew it was him.

Analyn's eyes widened as she looked at the person standing on my back. I can't blame her if she would had a crush on him. He's just... sinfully handsome.

Her eyes shifted back to me. She wiggled her brows and sent me a teasing smile. “Oh, Katia. I didn't know you already have a boyfriend.”

My cheeks burned in embarrassment. I shook my head quickly. “H-He's not—”

She waved her hands in the air dismissively as she cut me off.

“Anyway, sure! I can look over your apartment while you're away.” She pulled me in a hug. “Your boyfie is a hottie. Good luck!” she whispered naughtily and giggled, teasing me and making me feel embarrassed even more.

I cleared my throat once again and handed her the key of my apartment and then a small envelope.

“What's this?” she curiously asked as she accepted the key and the envelope.

“That's my apartment's key and the envelope has a money in it. You can use it,” I said.

Her eyes widened. “Oh, no, I can't accept it!” she exclaimed as she pushed the envelope back to me.

I smiled gently and pushed back the envelope to her. “No. Please, accept it. It's nothing compared to the kindness you've shown to me.”

“We're not asking in return...” she whispered as she pouted.

“I know. That's why you should accept it. You can use this money to buy more ingredients and give our neighbors a viand, too.”

She blushed and tucked some strand of her hair behind her ear as she finally accepted the money.

“H-How much is this?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Just a little.”

Analyn smiled shyly and nodded her head. “Okay. Uhm, thanks. I'll tell my mom about it. She's sleeping though,” she said.

I flashed a grateful smile.

I reluctantly hugged her and kissed her cheeks before I bid a goodbye and walked away with Alpha Reui trailing after me like a dog's tail.

When we got into the parking lot, I immediately noticed the newest model of Lamborghini. I wasn't that shocked to find out that it was his. However, I couldn't help but to feel amazed and discomfit. I realized that I am nothing compared to him. Only rich people could get an expensive car like this. It's intimidating to be quite frankly.

Reui opened the passenger's side and smiled warmly at me. “After you, baby.”

I rolled my eyes and swallowed my pride as I hopped into the car. I have money and I could buy a car for myself but I chose to commute instead. I don't know how to drive, anyway.

He jogged towards the other side of the car and got in. He buckled his seatbelt and I did mine, too.

“My luggage?” I inquired.

“At the backseat,” he spoke before starting the engine and began driving away.

Now that we're finally driving away from the building, a shit of realization hit me once again. I'm going to be away. Away from the home I used to live. Or, should I say, environment that I used to live. I haven't had a home, though.

I sighed.

I don't exactly know what's waiting for me in the university Fernando have mentioned to me.

I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the window, thinking of the path I've chosen to walk to. I had a choice to run away and hide but I didn't. But then again, it's so stupid of me to think about it just now when I'm literally on my way to this new school—this new life rather.

Fear engulfed me. Just the thought of the new life waiting for me has me trembling in fear and in anxiousness. I've never been in a place where I was surrounded by my own kind. I don't know what they'd react. I don't know if they're able to accept me. Not that I want them to accept who I am, but at least, they could be casual around me. I don't want to feel out of place. I don't want to feel like a weird alien in front of many eyes.

I don't want to be bullied...

A big, callous warm hand suddenly held mine. I opened my eyes and looked at him. My hear was skipping a beat.

“Don't be afraid, I'm not letting you get hurt,” he said reassuringly as if reading my thoughts.

I looked away. “How did you know?” I quietly asked, feeling the urge to pull my hand back to stop this weird butterflies dancing inside my stomach, but I stopped myself from doing so. I couldn't deny that it actually felt good to feel him.

“We're mates. Although I haven't marked you yet, we already have this bond. I can somehow feel your emotions. Especially if it's strong. Right now I can feel that you're afraid—for whatever reason it is. But I want you to know that I won't never ever let you get hurt, okay?” He gave my hand a light squeeze. “I know things might be too fast for you. We just met yesterday and now I'm taking you to my pack. But you must understand why I'm doing this. You are not just someone else, Katia. You are my mate, and whether you like it or not, we're going to spend our whole lives together.”

I took a sharp breathe of surprise and pulled my hands. I looked at him sideways as my heart fluttered.

“Y-You're kidding me.”

His brow creased. He glanced at me for a brief second before averting it to the road. “I am not. Why would I lie to you?”

I became speechless.

He sighed and held my hand again, interlocking our fingers this time around.

“I've waited for you, Katia, and now that I've finally saw you, I have no plan on letting you go.”
