Alex gaped at me after my utterance, I simply smiled at him, waiting. The warriors that had gathered around us were also watching me in surprise.

“You want to join us in the house-to-house search?” He asked, repeating my earlier words.

I folded my hands across my chest. “Yes, that is exactly what I’d just said.”

“Why?” He blurted.

I raised my brows at him. “What do you mean why?”

He cleared his throat. “I mean, I understand why you'd requested for us to conduct a house-to-house search today and we shall do that, but why do you want to join? And I don't mean that in any manner disrespectful.”

I smiled at him. “None taken.”

He watched me, waiting for my response.

“I made a promise to the members of this pack to ensure their safety and I shall do that. The alpha is busy with ledgers and office paperwork, I am not good at any of that but I consider myself quite perceptive and I am going to put that to good use.
