I trust you

Ella opened the door of Mr. Stephen and gently entered. Still, the sound of her footsteps woke him up.

"Ella, you're here." Mr. Stephen said, sitting up.

"Dad, how are you?" Ella walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I'm fine. I'm sorry to make you worry."

"Dad don't say that, taking care of you is my duty."

“I am your burden, right?” Mr. Stephen patted Ella's hand, his voice a little sad.

"No. I am lucky to be your daughter.”

Ella's phone rang. She took out her phone and looked at it softly. "I'm out on the phone for a while, I'll be back soon." She said and walked out of the room.

"Wazzup? We just said goodbye for a few minutes.” Ella said politely. Although she is not the daughter of a noble family, she was raised from a young age to be polite when talking to others.

"I just wanted to say if you need anything, just tell me, I'm here to help." David said, he just arrived at the company.

"Thank. But the money you gave me was enough for me to take care of everything.” Ella said with a serious tone.

"Okay. See you at my house.” David said and ended the call.

Ella returned to the room to tell Mr. Stephen that she needs to do one thing. She took a taxi back to the inn and packed her clothes.

Ella called David. "It's all done."

"Good. I'll ask Key to come."

Moments later, a car appeared in front of the gate of the inn. Key stepped down and carried Ella's luggage to Anthony's house.

Ella returned to the hospital. In the afternoon, after finishing work at the company, David went to the hospital to pick her up. He drove her to a luxury apartment in The Lancaster downtown.

David gave the key to Ella, said. “Your father will be here, I will hire a nanny to take care of him. So you don't have to worry about this."

Ella looked around the apartment. It's big and beautiful, she's never seen this apartment in her life. Spacious space combined with a sustainable, modern structure. It consists of two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. There is also a relaxation room and a gym.

“It's great but how am I supposed to tell my father? I can't tell him about our marriage contract? That would shock him.” Ella blinked at David.

David did not think and spoke quickly. “Tell him you just got paid. You work hard and should get a raise.”

Ella frowned and thought for a moment, then nodded. “I will speak as you say. Thank you again, I will try to complete the task in three years.”

"I trust you. Don't worry, I'll help you when needed." David's eyes softened as he spoke.

A week later, Mr. Stephen was discharged from the hospital. Key takes orders from his boss to drive Mr. Stephen and Ella go to their new home.

Sitting in the back seat, Mr. Stephen looked at Key and then at Ella questioningly. "Who is he, why is he so enthusiastic?"

Ella gently explained. “He is my general manager's assistant. My CEO knew you were discharged from the hospital, so he asked his assistant to come to pick us up… um… to our new home.”

"New house? Where is our house now?" Mr. Stephen was amazed.

“That house is too small, I want you to relax comfortably, so I rented a new house. It is a fully furnished apartment.”

As soon as Ella finished speaking, Key stopped the car in front of The Lancaster apartment gate.

Ella helped her father into the elevator. When the apartment door was opened, he was overwhelmed by the luxurious appearance of the place.

He looked at Ella suspiciously. “Where is the money to rent a luxury apartment like this?”

“My salary, father. Recently, I have saved some money, so I rented this apartment because I want you to have a comfortable life.” Ella felt guilty about lying to her father.

How angry will he be if he finds out about this marriage? So she decided to hide it and find a reason to convince him to live here. She continued. “I got a new job, the contract is for three years. In the near future, I will be very busy and go on business trips often, and will rarely come home, so I will stay in the company's dormitory for convenience. But rest assured, I will visit you at the weekend.” Ella secretly blamed herself for lying so much. As long as her father is safe and healthy, she is ready to do anything.

The eyes of Mr. Stephen did not leave his daughter's face. He has a feeling that his daughter did something to save his life. But he couldn't guess. He will regret it later if he causes his daughter to suffer.

However, he didn't say what was on his mind and accepted it here, for Ella's pleasure.

The next morning, before moving into Anthony's mansion, Ella hugged Mr. Stephen, she began to whimper and speak in a shaky voice. "Dad, you have to take care of yourself. Don't forget to eat. Stay healthy."

"You too." Mr. Stephen said as he squeezed Ella's hand. "Call me when someone bullies you. If anything happens, come back here. We'll go home."

"I know, father." Ella was moved to hear those words. She wiped her tears and kissed her father on the cheek.

Then she said goodbye to her father and went to the gate. David is waiting outside.

She got in the car and David started driving.

"The tap is ready, isn't it?" David asked while looking ahead.

"I think I'm ready." Ella took a deep breath. "I need to be strong and tough, starting now."

"I'm here so you don't have to worry. I promise I won't let you down." David said with a happy expression on his face.

"I'm fine."

"Shall we go to breakfast?"

"Yes."

David turned the wheel, turning the car onto another road, where there was a restaurant he frequented.

David walked side by side with Ella inside the restaurant. All eyes were on them. Some people are jealous, some are envious, and some are admiring because they are so beautiful together.

Everyone knows how big of a character David is in X city. Wherever he goes, he becomes the subject of lively talk among gossipers.
