5. A Chat Alone

“We have a lot to discuss, let's talk over breakfast," Lydia said as she ushered the prince to the dining area. There was tension in the air, something needed to be done or said to liven the mood her niece has just managed to ruin.

"That is a good idea," Leonard agreed and he followed Lydia to the dining room.

It was like a mini feast. He had heard that Lydia also knew how to play a good host but he had not known to what extent. She really was good at it.

"Please, do sit here," she gestured and the both men took their seats.

Lydia turned to Sarah, Leandra and Cassandra who had been waiting in the room for them. She gave them a small nod and they began serving the Prince.

Mariana who had been ignored was about to leave when her aunt gave her a haughty look.

"Mariana dear, why not serve the prince? I'm sure you could use some practice on being a proper lady because I can tell you've barely had one, a flaw on my sister's part I must say," Lydia said sternly.
