Chapter Twenty-Seven: First Day Part One Kiara, at age nineKiara POV: The past few days at the castle were great. JJ and I video-called every day, and I talked to mom and daddy every day as well. The triplets were busy. However, they always made time to talk to me, even for a few minutes. No doubt I missed my family and JJ, especially JJ, but Rex, King Kayden, and King Jayden didn't let me be sad for long. During these few days, we watched at least three Disney movies daily. And, I was proud to admit that I think I've made the kings into Disney lovers. Whenever I asked them questions about the princesses or princes, they would always get it right compared to Rex; the dumbie fell asleep between the movies more often than he watched them. He was so much like JJ! As annoying as it was because I used to stay up and watch his action or car movies while he slept through mine, it made it feel a lot like home sometimes; it felt like JJ was right beside me. He and I had successfully even ma
Chapter Twenty-Eight: First Day Part Two Kiara, at age nine Kiara POV: Just as I was about to promise King Kayden and King Jayden that I would be the topper of the class by the end of the scholarship, Rex came in and jumped at me. Which had me stumble, and we ended up on the floor in fits of giggles. Just as I was about to say something, snarls left both the kings and both I and Rex stiffened. From the corner of my eyes, I saw they were both furious. Oh-no! Did they think Rex hurt me? Before I could come to Rex's defence, King Jayden spoke up. "Are you out of your goddess damned mind Rex? What if you hurt her." Said King Jayden as he quickly pulled Rex off me and helped me up. He and King Kayden were looking for any injuries. Were these really our kings? Could they not see Rex was just messing with me, and I literally fell on a carpeted floor! Seeing Rex's forlorn looks, all the admiration I had for them was gone, and I frowned and stepped away from them. Just as the
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Day Before The Final Trivia Kiara, at age twelve Kiara POV: "I totally think Shawn is going to ask me out for the end of scholarship party to be his date." "You're blind, Cathy! You should know that Shawn and, like every other guy that used to be in our class, have their eyes set on Kiara." "Well, duh, I know Ri, but a girl can dream. Plus, Ms.perfect over here doesn't bother giving them the time of day, so they have to turn to someone else anyway. I swear sometimes I think she and prince Rex are dating." I heard Cathy say I couldn't help but chuckle at my two best friends and their antics. Our final Trivia examination was tomorrow. Tomorrow would decide who out of all of us would get a chance to work alongside scholar Andrew and rest, and here my two best friends were busy thinking which tom dick and harry would be taking them to the farewell party. "You know to get to the party, you both still need passing scores in the Trivia. You don't want to make a f
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Controlling Everything In Us Kiara, at age twelve Kayden POV: Three years had flown by, and to say they were hard as fuck was the biggest understatement of the fucking decade. Three years of having our beloved mate but admiring her from afar was hard as fuck. Seeing her grow into the intelligent person she was, and not to mention the mature young lady she had become just at the age of twelve, was mind baffling. Our Kiara was beautiful, our little pup mate. It was hard having her around and not being close to her; we had to watch her laugh and be close to the other male wolves from afar, always keeping our distance for her safety. Even though it was harmless, our possessiveness got the best of us, and even though we weren't proud of it, we came up with a way to get rid of the unwanted male attention. This year we added the disqualification of students among the scholarship, eliminating students based on their term exams. We really hadn't thought that the maj
Chapter Thirty-One: Trivia Part One Kiara, at age twelve Kiara POV: King Kayden and King Jayden's words played in my head like a broken record all night. The venom, the hostility in their voices and the anger in their eyes flashed in front of me repeatedly. How could they say something so shallow like that to me? And why were we even a target of their hostility in the first place? They had told us countless times that we needed to take breaks when we studied to make sure we weren't overwhelmed, and when we did, they decided to go bum-crap crazy on us. On top of that, why would they embarrass Rex like that in front of us all? Rex was the most hardworking person I knew. He looked up to his brothers, and what they did was horrible; they literally yelled at him in front of other people; he was a prince as well and had to be respected. You could tell how hurt he was. It was his bummed expression that made me answer back to king Jayden and king Kayden, which I had never done before yes
Chapter Thirty-Two: We're Sorry Kiara, at the age of twelve Kayden POV: It was down to the last question. Our little mate and the other pup, Shawn, were left for the final round. Kiki's friends had not made it to the final round. You could see the hurt in our little mate's eyes when the Scholar Andrew announced the first tier of results. It took everything in Jayden and me not to go over there and comfort our brave little mate. We could see the tears gathering in her eyes, but we stayed back and let that pup, Jacob and Rex console her. Seeing our little Kiara so close to Rex and Rex her was hard. Especially now that we knew his intentions of him wanting our mate to be his mate, we knew that wasn't the case, but that didn't stop the fact that our little Kiara could fall for our little brother. We wanted to tell her to tell the world that she was ours, mine and Jayden, our future Luna queen, but the risk was too high. One slip on the tongue by either her or Rex or anyone, and s
Chapter Thirty-Three: Warrior Scholarship Try-Outs Kiara, at the age of twelve Kiara POV: I took deep breaths as I waited in the tent for the contestants. It was the day of the trials for the warrior scholarship, and to say I was pooping bricks was an understatement: I was terrified. I wanted nothing more than to do good in this and be one of the thirteen students. The competition was tough; out of the thirteen seats, only two were given to she-wolves, and the rest were males. Rex, JJ and four more boys had already been awarded the scholarship; therefore, the rest of the spots were determined on your results of the trials. I was a fact and numbers person, but I wasn't sure about fighting. Beta Tim and Gamma Chris had said I was amazing. Over the years here, they had been training me, getting me ready for the trails, but I was scared regardless of all that time spent training. What if I failed? What if someone else was chosen other than me? The thought of being unable to do th
Chapter Thirty-Four: We're In This Together Kiara, at the age of twelve Kiara POV: Panting, I dropped dead on the floor in the participant tent. Beta Tim and Gamma Chris weren't kidding when they said the kings wouldnt go easy on me. They had me run twenty miles around the grounds in under seven minutes. They gave me three minutes to develop the offence and defence battle strategy, given a scenario we were under attack; they made me run an obstacle course in ten minutes, dodging warriors' attacks and weapons, climbing over walls, jumping and using weapons. But if that wasn't enough to end it all, they had me spar with another she-wolf candidate, and at the absolute end, they had me spar with them, which was next to impossible since they were giants compared to me. The only hit I could get in was on their legs. And to top that off, they had even shifted into their wolves. But what caught me off guard was that whenever I tried to get a shot in on their wolves, they used to discre
