Chokehold

"What?", I stared, stupefied. "Does Jacob know we're doing this?"

Sydney scoffed, "I thought you would be gunning to make him rue".

"Rue? In exchange for my safety?"

"You'll be safe", Sydney shrugged, pulling into the parking lot of the packed club. And when I meant packed, you'd think they were offering up a thousand dollar bonus.

"I still don't understand what we're going to do here", I said, looking around the premises of the club and getting the creeps.

I still didn't know how I had found myself from here to where we had seen Taenar's hideout. I wondered if Jacob had gone back there to investigate the hideout.

Obviously they wouldn't be dumb enough to still

be there after letting us go.

"Well girly here wants to search for the bloke named Michael"

"Michael?"I frowned at Dick. We were heading towards the throng of people lining up outside the club.

"He's the one that I was talking about". "That did the thing"

Dick used his hands to gesture at himself and it clicked in my head.
