Chapter 26

Five days in pain, Zane kept sleeping in his room as he tried to find some healing. He was lucky that he coughed quite a little bit. Alyssa was by his side. Looking after his every needs. She did not sleep as she would hold his hand and sometimes hug him when she felt very lonely. She wanted him to open his eyes and smile her way. She missed him too much. It was really hard seeing him like that. He looked as if he was a ghost.

The poison inside his body had been neutralized with his own. He couldn't wake up because he was too weak and also it was a new month. For him a new month meant hell for the first five days. He would have headaches, chest pains, stomach aches and sometimes he would have his whole body writhing with so much pain.

Alyssa sat beside his sleeping form as she watched over him. She yearned for his yellow eyes. Those past six days had been filled with nothing but sadness and worry. She worried he might not ever wake up.
