Don’t go too far

Levy felt like she was dreaming, there was no way that Logan will come looking for her, right? If this was her old self, she would have been happier than ever, even foolishly believing that he came for her, that he realised his mistake but after seven years in hell, where she had to sleep with an eye open worried that the warden would make a move when she was asleep.

But now that seven years have passed, she no longer held any hope. She knew it in her heart that if he wanted to save her, he would have done that for seven years, he wouldn’t have waited till the day she finished serving her sentence.

She took a glance at him just for a moment though and realised that the teenage boy has grown up to become a flawless man. With those sleek muscles that were neither too buff nor too lean, he looked even better than before, dangerous even not that Levy cared anymore but her wolf——

That pitiful animal, who still had some hope left when it came to her mate whined inside her head, her whine was full of longing with a hint of resentment.

She suppressed her wolf—— never again, will she care for this man. Once she loved him even more than her pride and what did it get her? Seven years in prison? Blinded in one eye?

This much was enough to wake her up from the dream she was living in.

Turning her head, she drew the denim jacket that was too small for her and why wouldn’t it be? It was seven years old after all, she was eighteen when she was pushed into this prison and now she was twenty-five.

A mature woman from a young teen, what a journey.

With her body bundled in a jacket that was too small for her, Levy walked past Logan who watched her go like he wasn’t even there for her. A slight pang that’s all she felt but of course that slight pang was enough to make her heart bleed, seven years and he was still the same as before—— whatever, if he was here, hoping that she will rush to him with her tail wagging like before, then he can go and suck it.

“ Levy Harlow, I command you to stop.” His voice called out from behind her but she didn’t look at him nor did she stop, she kept walking. Her freedom was just a few steps away once she was off the prison grounds she will be able to use her powers as a shifter and run from this place without turning back.

“ Levy Harlow, I as your alpha and mate, command you to stop!” Logan repeated his words and a sneer formed on Levy’s face, as her alpha and mate? Who was he kidding? He rejected her years ago, the very day he sent her to the prison——-

The chain of her thoughts broke as her knees buckled under her and she fell with a low thump. The sound of footsteps echoed behind and then a pair of black leather shoes came to stop in front of her, stunned as ever she raised her head at Logan. “ You didn’t renounce your claim?”

Annoyance flickered in his eyes as he sneered. “ Why should I renounce my claim on you? So that you can live a happy life?” Then he raised his leg and kicked Levy on the shoulder making her wince in pain. Damn that was where she was slashed yesterday.

He ignored her wince of pain just like he ignored her pleas seven years ago and went on, “ Mavis didn’t get to live a happy life, why should you?”

“So, that’s why you are here?” said Levy as she pushed herself off the ground and looked at him with a roaring fire burning in her eyes. “ You are here because you want to make me suffer even more, right?”

“ That’s right,” he didn’t even stop for a heartbeat before answering. “ You are yet to pay for your sins, Levy Harlow.”

“Sins?” Levy laughed as she took off her jacket and threw it on the ground before she started taking off her tee-shirt.

Logan frowned as he stepped back in disgust. “ What are you doing? I wouldn’t sleep with you even if you are the last woman on earth.”

“ And I would not sleep with you if you were the last man,” retorted Levy as she threw her tee-shirt at his face causing Jake who was behind Logan to shriek. “ What are you doing Levy? He is your alpha .”

“ An alpha that I neither accept nor respect,” shot back Levy as she strode closer to Logan who whipped off the shirt of his face. She pointed to the scars covering her body and sneered, “ You see these? Did your precious Mavis suffer this much? Did she ever know how it feels to have a chunk of flesh being slashed out?”

Then she pointed to her eye that has gone blind for more than five years. “ Or does she knows how it feels to have a dagger almost piercing her eyeball?” When he didn’t answer and kept looking at her as stoic as ever she pushed him ignoring the yells of the enforcers, Elder Hopkins and her brother. “ I will tell you that she didn’t but I did? You talk about sins? Forget about the sins of this life, I might have as well paid for the ones in my past life.”

She nastily smiled as she spat out. “ I must have made some inhuman sins, or else the moon Goddess wouldn’t have given me a mate like you,”

“ Levy!” shouted Jake. “ Don’t go too far!”

But she ignored him just like he did when she was pleading with him to save her life. She stared right at Logan with a tilt of her head as she cooed, “ Now you have to excuse me if I am being disrespectful to you but you know what,” raising her hand she patted his cheek. “ Levy Harlow, your mate and the enforcer of your pack died the day you pushed her to hell with your hands, so forgive me for not being showing adequate respect to you, my dear alpha.”
