The Night Angel: Chapter 3

Back in the cell, sounds of cries could be heard around us. Girls were weeping, hugging each other while some of the boys consoled them.

I pulled out one of my daggers from my boot and held it up, staring at it deep in thought.

What exactly are these soldiers gonna be like? I need to survive and my team will too.

Where will this fight be? What are their weapons gonna be...how strong are they? How exactly do we win them?

"I don't get it. This doesn't make any sense" Stacie has been pacing our room shaking her head. "So kidnap us, make us suffer for years in the name of training us...only to have us all murdered? What kind of a psychotic bitch does that?

She asked and stopped her pace to stare at me.

"Not exactly all of us Sunshine. Five of us has to survive" Henry chipped in

"That's just as good as getting us all killed!" Josie exploded and I had to smile. Josie has a temper.

"Like....what's even the point? We don't even know how ruthless these men are gonna be. So the five of us has to survive. Oh Great!... We don't even know who it's gonna be. And we are just gonna spend the rest of this week knowing that we might die this weekend"

"No" I interrupted putting down my dagger and they all turned to look at me. "No we are not gonna do that. We are gonna spend these few days training and planning on how to survive. We will not submit till it's over Jo Jo"

Henry nodded and smiled at me

"Daggers is right," Chelsea said, coming down from her bed to sit beside me. "We won't submit. You guys don't have to be scared. There are five of us here, who says we can't be the survivors? We can....and we are gonna fight to survive. You guys are my family...I will give my life to protect each and everyone of us"

Stacie came to sit beside her and hugged her from the sides.

"No one has to give their lives for anyone" I said and I meant it. "We are a unit, and we are a force. Our bond is strong, this is the best team in this mob and we will use that to our advantage...." I paused and looked at all their faces to see them paying attention to me.

"All we need is a plan. We are a family, and I love you guys. We will have each other's back....we will protect each other, because we can't do this alone"

"That's right," Henry chipped in.

"Yeah.....we all have our individual strengths, these strengths come together will make us unbeatable. We will use that to shield ourselves." I got up from the bed to stare out the window.

"Henry is good with his guns, we all know he's the second strongest after Jason. But Jason doesn't have what he has which is us. So he doesn't stand a chance. Chelsea is the fastest and the best with her bows. She can use her guns well too. Stacie....no one knows your guns as much as u do, and Josie is a badass with her sword. What can possibly hold us down?"

Nothing...and I'm gonna make sure of it.

"You are right." Josie replied with a nod. "Our advantage is that we have and love each other. But that's not enough, we need a stable plan of operation "

"True and we need more training and a Little rest. We can't afford to waste much time." Chelsea replied

"That's right. But we also need more supplies of weapons. We can't just depend on the ones we have. Henry, you have to speak to one of the soldiers for that. Each and everyone of us needs at least two Ruger LCP pistols, one dagger..you all know how to use one. Loads of bullets so we are not caught unawares...a fresh supply of arrows for Chelsea. Another sword for Josie ...and also.." I smiled wickedly. "I'd love to get my hands on a FAMAS assault rifle or an AK 103"

Henry grinned in understanding. "Anything for you angel"

If only.....

"Weapons settled. So what's the plan?"

Chelsea asked.

"I don't know yet. We will have to go to the field to set up traps, monitor and know every hidden area there. I think we should do that later tonight during training." I answer "We don't know the strength of the soldiers...but we should overestimate them to have an advantage, so let's assume that they are ten times stronger and faster than the soldiers here, that's what we will have in mind while training"

They all gave their consent.

"This time is different. This is kill or be killed, so we won't hesitate or back down. We will conquer and we will survive. We will not give up till it's over"

"Damn straight." Stacie replied with a smile and Josie clapped.

"What would we do without you Daggers?" Henry asked and I turned to him.

"I have no idea" I laughed "And I promise you that you won't have to find out. Because it's us all against the world. No matter what life throws tomorrow...I'll always be there, we will stick together through it all. Forever"

Chelsea came over and hugged me tightly

"We will be fine little sister" she said rubbing my back and I nodded.

"I know." And I hugged her back

I wasn't gonna lose any of these guys, no matter what it takes.

"Good. Tell Henry how you feel, don't worry about me" she whispered in my ear and I smiled "life is short. Live it to the fullest" I nodded and she released me

"I love you Chels"

She smiled warmly and tapped my nose with her finger.

"And I love you little sis"

"We will get through this together. You guys are my family, my only family. We will survive and we will go out there... finally. We will explore the world, love our lives. Visit new places, taste new foods, meet girls and boys, have fun...and we will do it all together. All five of us"

They all cheered and I smiled.

"Hey daggers..." Henry called from his bed "come over here for a minute"

With my smile still in place I walked to him and sat beside him.

"I know you....more than anyone else here" he began and touched my chin "thanks for encouraging everyone. That's what you do best. But I can see you are scared too....you are just trying to convince yourself too but because u are just you...you can't let anyone see that, because u are the glue that holds us together"

"Henry......"

"Shhh. It's really gonna be okay angel, I promise. I'll protect you with everything I am, even if it means putting my life on the line I'd do that for u with zero hesitation. Because I'm not gonna loose you.....ever"

My heart twitched and my eyes filled with tears. I stared deep into his eyes and I knew he meant every word.

"We don't deserve this" I whisper and Henry nodded stroking my cheeks with his finger, that touch making my swell tingle, igniting a fire within me and I bit my lip.

Henry smiled

"I know love. We don't. We deserve to have a normal childhood, to remember our lives before we came to this hell. But we didn't get what we know we deserve so we might as well take what life is throwing at us with our head held up high" He whispered and his eyes went to my lips which I was still biting while he caressed my cheek with his finger.

Then he trailed the finger down to my upper lips and stroked it sensually.

I gasped and he smiled almost painfully.

"Whenever you do that..." He drawled before removing his fingers from my face and I had to bite my lip harder to stop myself from begging him to continue.

"I wish you wouldn't look at me like that angel" He murmured and my heart sank

"Can't help it" I whispered and stood up but he gripped my wrist before I could take a step

"When all this is over...when we finish this and go out there, I'll have you all to myself daggers. That's a promise" He said and my heart stopped for a minute, then started beating fast

"Wh...what?"

"I know how you actually feel and trust me when I say that I have that same fire burning deep inside. I yearn for you.....but I was just holding myself back till u become legal." He whispered with a smile

"Well.." I said and cleared my throat. "I'm eighteen now Henry. Nothing is stopping you, guess u forgot that when u were having Chelsea all over you all week"

"Chelsea knows how I feel too...she was just a temporary distraction and she knows that. We have no feelings for each other. And I stand by my words..." Henry pulled my wrist and I almost fell on his chest but stopped the impact with my other hand on his bed. But I was practically on top of him and I could feel his breath on my face as I stared into his eyes.

"You will be mine alone. When the time is right" he whispered and licked his lips.

"Oh my God"

Henry chuckled at Chelsea's gasp from behind us

"This room has become too hot," she said.

"I know right?" Stacie joined in and the three of them giggled.

"Well kiss her if you are going to sir. Don't keep the audience in suspense* Josie called and clapped her hand together while Chelsea and Stacie laughed.

I smiled and tried to get up but was stopped by Henry's grip on my waist.

"I'll do that" he answered them with a grin still looking into my eyes. "Eventually" then he kissed my cheek and released me.

With my heart racing and knees shaking I walked over to my bed ignoring the girls eyes and laid down.
