Chapter Two

"I raised you and this is how you repay me?" Delilah angrily said and Marjorie knew that it was going to be another torture night.

Damon loves to abuse her, Delilah loves torturing her while their daughter loves putting her in trouble. A perfect family who all have something in common, they love making her life miserable and won’t even feel sorry for her.

"How about throwing away that MP3 once and for all? It's quite old now anyway and I'm sure it's not working anymore." Anna suggested with a wicked grin plastered on her face.

"N-no, you can destroy everything but please, not this." Marjorie begged while holding the player closer to her.

Delilah didn't care, she took Marjorie’s wrist and grabbed the player. She then threw it down the ground and stepped on it over and over until it was smashed into pieces.

Marjorie watched in horror as she begged her to stop, tears streaming down her face as she blamed herself for being weak.

She held the MP3 player her whole life, it was the only thing she had as a momentum from her parents and now it was shattered into pieces.

Marjorie wanted to scream, stop Delilah from damaging her player even further and ran away from this place. She doesn't care where she ends up,she just needs to get out of that place and somewhere far far away.

Although she couldn't do anything, she couldn't stop Delilah. All she could do was watch her destroy the item that she treasured the most.

For seventeen years she had been taking care of the player, making sure that it’s always in good condition but now it was gone in a blink of an eye.

"Now clean this mess up you useless b*tch." Delilah demanded.

Marjorie slowly knelt down and picked up the broken MP3 player. Her tears continued coming out like a waterfall and she begam whimpering.

"What are you crying for? That item is useless just like you, not worth shedding your tears for it. It's probably useless just like your mother!" Anna chuckled and Marjorie had enough of it.

"The only useless thing here is your attitude." She finally talked back and the mother-daughter pair was shocked.

"How dare yo-" Delilah didn’t get to finish her sentence as Marjorie ran past them. "Get back here you brat!"

Marjorie had forgotten that it was still raining outside but she didn’t care. She ran through the cold, rainy night.

She didn't really know where to go, she just needed to get out of that place for a while. She has no idea if she was cursed in her previous life that she had to live like this or if the world just hates her for being born.

Everything came crashing down on her, she even started thinking that her parents didn't want her, that's why they left her to suffer.

The rain reflected her sadness as it engulfed her whole body in its sorrow. You won't even know if she’s crying as her tears merge with the rain. Only her expression will prove that she was in deep pain.

Lately, Anna had been finding ways to hurt her physically and mentally. When she noticed that nothing had been working, she planned to strike her weakness which was to destroy the MP3 player and was successful.

Marjorie soon stopped when she saw a big black wolf limping in the middle of the road. She doesn’t why but she felt the wolf’s aura was gloomy, as if it was also having a bad day like her.

At that moment, the rain stopped and the clouds in the sky made way to reveal the full moon and its light engulf the whole town. Marjorie did not notice this as she was too focused on the wolf in front of her.

Marjorie  then saw a truck was driving at full speed and knew at that moment that the wolf would die if it got hit by the truck.

The wolf looked at the truck and didn’t do anything, as if he was waiting for it to come and end his life. He also didn’t notice that there was another presence just behind him.

"Watch out!" Marjorie yelled from the top of her lungs.

The wolf’s ear perked up and immediately looked to where he heard the voice. At that moment, it was as if he gained some strength as he watched the woman gets closer to him.

Marjorie used all her remaining strength and pushed the wolf just in time before the truck could hit him. It was a near death situation where if she was one second slower, the two of them could have died.

The truck didn’t even stop, it just continued driving away until it disappeared from sight.

Marjorie’s  heart was pounding so loud due to her near-death experience and her legs were shaking uncontrollably. This was not the plan that she was thinking of to ease her mind.

"That driver is crazy..." Marjorie commented then looked at the wolf.

She saw that the wolf’s left leg was badly injured and blood was oozing out so she took out her scarf and wrapped it around his injury. It was amazing how the wolf didn’t move nor flinched when Marjorie was treating him.

If others saw this scene, they would immediately chase the wolf away and probably kill it. After all, the wolf looks like it can swallow Marjorie as a whole because of its size.

After she finished tending to his injury, she looked into his eyes and noticed that he had a beautiful brown eyed colored orbs.

"Your eyes are beautiful..." Marjorie suddenly spoke what was on her mind out loud then laughed. "But I guess you won't even understand what I just said."

Marjorie was about to pat the wolf’s head but it moved away from her. She then smiled while thinking that it didn’t want to get touched by a human.

Thinking about it, any person who encountered a wolf would immediately run away and yet here she is laughing in front of the wolf.

Although looking at the wolf, Marjorie didn’t sense any danger, which she finds weird.

"Well, I guess you're fine now so I'll take my leave before you eat me." She even teased the wolf to get any reaction to it but he was just staring at her, as if it was also reading her.
