Fiction of her imagination

"Humph, you're not going to ask me why I was questioned?"

"Why were you questioned?" She heard him ask his focus still on his book.

"Because I tried to jump off a really tall building." Lena's beautiful face held the hint of a slight smirk.

"Hehe." She heard him chuckle absentmindedly before he realized what she said and let out an exclamation pulling her to face him again. "You tried to jump off a building?" Subconsciously yelling out the words due to shock.

"Tsk, be quiet, don't let mother hear you." She glared at him. "Do I look like someone who would try to jump off a building? I just went to the rooftop to get some air, who knew that by the time I'd opened my eyes I was surrounded by a crowd who thought I was trying to kill myself, they even called the police, you should have seen their faces, it was as if I'm some sort of pitiful depressed person." She explained exasperatedly.

"Hahaha!" Will laughed out loud at her words, he pinched her cheeks as he said "I told you your habit of climbing heights when you're upset will get you in trouble some day, now you know I was right."

She pouted. "Why is everyone telling me that? All of you just know how to rub it in."

Will ruffled her hair slightly before going back to his calculations. His face still holding a smile.

Lena was his childhood friend, they'd practically grown up together, since Lena and her mother moved here to open their eatery. At that time he was only six years old, when he saw Lena from across the street. She was crying sitting on the floor in a pink dress that was dirtied by mud, he could still remember her face as she looked up at him.

She had bit her lips hard because of the pain from falling and scraping her knee making her two dimples appear, her face was stained with tears, with more rolling down her cheeks as she blinked her doe like eyes.

She had looked at his extended hand disbelievingly before placing her hands in his. From then on, they became the best of friends. He'd protect her whenever she got in trouble, and she mostly also attempted to return the favor but that only ended up crying out of fear of trying to face off the bully and he'd still be the one to save her.

"Hmmm, smells nice." Will inhaled finally dropping his notebook after he finished his calculations.

Seeing Lena serving the dish she just prepared he greedily extended his hand to help himself, but she smacked it away.

"Don't even think about it, I made those for mother."

"But don't I get some?" He asked eyeing the food hungrily.

"No way."

"Please." He attempted blinking his eye pitifully, exactly the way she did whenever she wanted something.

Lena looked up at his face stifling a smile at his laughable appearance.

His deep black hair messily falling across his face, thick brows scrunched up along with his defined nose, a straight oval jawline along with his delicately pale skin gave him a slight feminine look which Lena would sometimes tease him for, calling him a girlish man, his black eyes always glowing with a lively spark.

Looking at Will Lena suddenly remembered the handsome man she'd seen in the morning, those obsidian eyes of his replayed in her memory, though she found Will handsome, in fact she had always thought of him as the most attractive looking guy she knew, only with a slight girlish appearance.

However this man compared to will had a dignified feel to him, the way his brows arched in an imposing manner, even the coldness in his eyes added to his exalting aura. The way he stood tall and proud, like he would put no one else in his eyes made her couldn't help but marvel at his being.

She found herself suddenly forgetting her little squabble with Will. Placing her elbow on the counter she cupped her cheeks in her palms reminiscing about the gorgeous man.

"Hey?" Will snapped his fingers in front of her face. "What's with the fan girl look on your face?"

He queried seeing Lena suddenly ignore him zoning out as if he didn't exist. Taking it as an opportunity he dug into the food taking a huge bite.

Lena suddenly let out a squeal, a fluttery feeling in her stomach as she said. "He's so handsome." She covered her face in her palms, then suddenly jolted as is realizing something. "Wait, what if he really was an angel and I was the only one who saw him? No that can't be. The professor had seen him right."

Will continued to stuff his face with the food as he watched Lena with a wierd expression. "Shaw who?" He queried with a full mouth.

"That Angel, eeeeh." She squealed excitedly. The suddenly ran inside, quickly picking her phone from her bag she dialled Rayne's number.

"Hello." Came Rayne's sleepy voice from the other side.

"You saw him right." Lena shot hurriedly.

"Who are you talking about Lena am so tired." Rayne drawled with a tired voice.

"The Ang... I mean that guy this morning who pulled me on the rooftop."

"What guy? Oh that one? Yes I saw him, why?"

Lena let out a sigh of relief. 'Good thing he wasn't just a fiction of my imagination, he's too perfect to be real.' she mumbled internally.

Hearing the silence on the other line Rayne called out. "Lena, why, what about the guy?" She heard Lena's voice rise a notch.

"Did you not see his face?" Lena exclaimed into the phone placing it between her shoulder and her ear as she went back into the kitchen snatching the food from Will.

"I did see him, I mean not clearly, I didn't get a good look at him, I was only worried about you. Why, what about him?"

Lena shook her head pitifully then noticed Will had picked up the food again she quickly snatched it addressing Rayne. "Ok we'll talk about that tomorrow, good night." She heard Rayne's voice roar angrily and she quickly hung up before she scolded her for interrupting her sleep without giving her a valid reason.

"And here is Lena's specialty." Lena placed the tray on the dining table and called out. "Mother, come let's eat."

Kalisa entered from the back wiping her wet hands against her apron. Lena shot her a disapproving look. "Mother, didn't I just tell you to rest, why are you out tiring yourself again?"

Kalisa chuckled sheepishly. "That was nothing, child I was just outside doing a few dishes, just some menial tasks." She began eating to stop her daughter's incessant nagging.

"And I already told you, leave the menial tasks to me." Lena couldn't help but scold her mother, she always felt a pang in her chest whenever she saw her mother's exhausted face.

"But you just returned tired from school, I couldn't stress you out with these tiny tasks. Just leave them to me, cooking for me is already enough just do your school work instead if you're less busy." Kalisa insisted.

Lena sighed helplessly at her mother, she had always been like that, never allowing Lena to do anything at all always making her prioritize her studies. She looked at her mother's slightly ageing and exhausted expression as she ate the food with a smile, while commenting how delicious it was and bragging to Will who'd joined them at the table of her daughter's cooking skills.

Her heart softened at the sound of laughter from Will and her mother that filled the air. No matter what she'd work hard, no matter how much effort it'd take, she'd become successful and give her mother the best life she deserved, she would however hard it'd take, just to see her mother finally living a comfortable life. That was a vow she made, and a vow she intended to keep.

The next morning. Lena arrive at her morning class amidst countless wierd gazes from all the students she passed by.

She sighed. 'It appears she'd built herself a reputation as the school's suicide girl .'

she couldn't count the number of people she was aquatinted with who stopped to either to offer her a comforting hug, or soothing words. But the majority of people were those who shot her death glares.

Some even physically bumped her shoulders on purpose, mumbling something about how they should have let her fall off the rooftop since she attempted to, and how much of a horrible person she was for attempting to kill herself out of jealousy, though that part she didn't understand, she chose to ignore all of it.

That wasn't the first time she'd gone to the rooftop before, it was just the first time she'd climbed that platform.

She spotted Rayne waving at her to come take a seat she reserved up in the third row.

"Morning. Thanks." She hurriedly took her seat beside Rayne before the class started.

"Wow, you've suddenly become a celebrity, I can only hear people utter your name all morning." Rayne jested.

Lena sneered. "Let them, they haven't got better things to do."

The class suddenly filled with low whispers and murmurs. Raising her head to see the cause of the commotion, Lena froze for a moment.

She heard Rayne scoff. "And here comes the witch."

Approaching Lena was the girl who was the cause of all this drama for Lena. Diane.

The girl was light skinned with straight auburn hair that parted at the side, wearing a flowery white dress she looked like a delicate flower with her fox like eyes and coy but flirty smile.

She sashayed towards Lena with two other equally pretty girls following closely behind, however standing beside Diane the other two girls beauty paled in comparison, due to Diane's soft and delicate flower like appearance.

"Lena how are you?" Diane exclaimed, her voice tiny and soft, feminine like the light flutters on a butterfly wings.

Tightly grasping Lena's two hands in her own.

Not allowing Lena to speak she continued to say. "Am so sorry about yesterday's incident. I really wasn't aware that you wanted that story, if I'd known... I really would have backed out for you." She sniffed in invisible tears as she continued. "During the short time we've been friends, I have really come to admire you, I would never have hurt you like that by presenting that story if I knew you wanted the spotlight. I really don't care about the attention as long as you'll be happy, please don't be upset with me, I never meant for that to push you towards attempting to jump the building." She paused, then quickly added as if recalling something. "If you want we can go to professor Jasper and tell him that the story was yours and it was all a misunderstanding." Her dainty eyes glowing with tears evoking people's sympathy.

Gasps and murmurs echoed in the class.

"Diane is such a kind person, she's even willing to give up her story for this girl."

"And she's not even asking for anything in return, she's willing to do it all for friendship."

"If I can recall, they only just recently became friends, but Diane's already willing to make sacrifices for her, how touching. I wish I could have a friend like that."

"But that Lena is so dark hearted, to think I was under the impression that she was a nice girl, humph."

"She's just jealous of Diane, and trying to ruin her reputation, girls like that don't deserve the kind gestures from someone like Diane."

Hearing the people's words Lena suddenly understood the other part of her bad reputation.
