Chapter 67

His boots clicked against the tiles as he slowly approached me.

Chills slithered down my spine with each step he took and I found myself backing away.

His low voice filled the room. "A little diviner prophesied about you two centuries ago. She said... you would destroy me. You." A little smile cracked his hard face, then it disappeared. "Do you know what I did to her?"

He continued to prowl towards me and when my back touched the wall, I got spurred into action. A white energyball exploded out of my palms, heading straight for him.

Hands at his back, he inclined away from the assault fluidly, never seizing in his stride towards me. "I had her killed," he continued as if I had not just attacked him. "There was tension between your kind and the lycans, so I decided to fuel it. What better way to do that than to strike where it hurts the most?"

The image of Lan's mother flashed across my mind, bare of all her limbs, and I hurled another ball at him, shrieking, "You, animal!"
