تسجيل الدخول05: BIRTHDAY PRESENTS
ARIA'S POV This wasn't an accident. Mario didn't have the brains or the motive to pull off something this huge alone. There was only one person ruthless enough to orchestrate this kind of public humiliation.Stepsister charming, Lora. Everything started adding up in my head. The two strange men who were tailing me in the corridor. She must have hired them to defile me, probably planning to record it so she could post it everywhere and destroy my reputation forever. How dare she? Who gave her the right to make plans about my body? She stole the man I loved, just like she takes every goddamn thing I own. But messing with my body was crossing a line she would deeply regret.
And I wouldn't listen to any of my father's excuses this time. Enough is enough. I couldn't take a single second of this anymore. I had never missed having my mother around so much. Right now, I felt like an orphane. Honestly, sometimes I wished I was one. Having a totally biased, spineless father who always side wrong was so much more harmful than having no father at all. I burst into another round of tears, never being more pleased that my car windows were heavily tinted. I reached into the pocket of the coat to grab my phone, wanting to block Jamie's number permanently. But my fingers brushed against something else. A small, velvet jewelry box. Curious, I popped the case open. The breath was instantly knocked out of my lungs. Resting inside was a beautiful, dazzling ruby ring, encased in a heavy, vintage platinum band. It looked so beautiful and familiar. It looked like an engagement ring. What the fuck!Had I just slept with an almost-engaged person?!!! Well, I supposed I was one myself until about eight hours ago. Is it possible to get engaged to another person while you are already privately engaged to one?I really needed answers to my damn questions.
I prayed that I was wrong. I needed to be. I also tried convincing myself that the stranger had bought it for his mother or his sister, desperate to stop the nausea from hitting my stomach and my conscience. I slammed the box shut and shoved it back into the coat pocket, swearing to forget this night forever. Remembering it would only cause uncomfortable memories. I would treat it as a meaningless one-night stand. After all, Daisy did it almost every weekend. Right. My phone. I needed to call her. I plugged my dead phone into the car charger, knowing she must have seen the videos of Jamie's public engagement by now. She was probably frantic, trying to reach me from out of state. She had been feeling so guilty about missing my twenty-first birthday due to her modeling contract, even though I told her it was fine. We both thought I would be safely lost in Jamie's eyes last night, celebrating our own future. No more stupid thoughts, Aria, I told myself, wiping my face and finally shifting the BMW into drive. A heavy coldness settled into the pit of my stomach as I finally pulled up to our estate. The house was a sprawling limestone mansion, built with towering white pillars and endless glass facades that screamed old money but inside, it felt completely empty. I didn't even acknowledge Dan, one of our security guards, who waved and greeted me at the security gate. I parked, stepped out of the car, and wrapped the stranger's oversized coat tightly around my torn dress. I walked up the grand stone steps, my knees shaking violently, my entire body aching with deep, physical and mental exhaustion. As I reached the massive mahogany front door, the sound of voices drifted clearly through the front window. The perfect little family of four.Laughing.ARIA'S POVThe crisp air outside John F. Kennedy International Airport hits me the moment I step out. Suddenly, a familiar loud screech cuts through the noise."Aria! Oh my god, look at you!"Daisy throws her arms around me. She squeezes the breath right out of my lungs. Four years have changed her from a starting model into an international superstar. But she is still the same Daisy. A confident, blunt blonde bombshell who lives life exactly on her own terms. Today, she is a total vision in a white tank top and ripped jeans, putting her famous sexy curves on display. She looks down at my baby. "My little treasure! You look even more handsome than the last time I saw you.""Pretty Godmother!" three-year-old Jeremiah pipes up from his stroller. He flashes her a bright, gap-toothed grin. "Wait till my hair grows back. I will be even more handsome."Daisy leans right down which is impressive with her heels. She pinches his cheeks with a dramatic gasp. "Look at this little charmer! Rem
FEELING LOSTJAMIE'S POVA blinding rage consumed me. I lunged forward, ready to throw my entire weight against Noah's door and break it wide open, but two heavy hands violently held me back.“Sir, step away. You can’t go in there.”My eyes flared with dangerous rage as I glared at the suit. “Get the hell out of my way before I make you move.”The guards didn’t budge a single inch. I could see from the corner of my eyes more of them approaching. Apparently, I am being labelled as a threat to their young master. They stood there like stone walls, completely unfazed by my threats. And their lapels bore the heavy silver crest of Noah's family. They weren't letting me through. My lungs squeezed so tight I could barely breathe. Noah. My best friend. The most dangerous, powerful man in our circle.Suddenly, a terrifying thought crawled into the back of my mind. I remembered the intense way Noah’s eyes always tracked Aria when he thought no one was paying attention. I remembered the way
THE CHOICE JAMIE'S POV From the center of the stage, even with the flashing cameras going off like gunfire, I still found her. Aria. And damn, she looked unreal. Aria had always been beautiful. Not just pretty but dangerously beautiful. People stare too long when they see her, I have to glare at them to show that she belongs. Even in my line of work, surrounded by models and actresses every day, no one ever came close. She was wearing a deep purple gown that hugged every curve of her body, showing off her soft skin and filling me with heat. She was mine. I wish could wrangle the neck of the men that kept stealing glances her, I wish I could claim her right in front of everyone. Aria remained oblivious to the look she was getting as always. Seeing her look that drop-dead gorgeous made a surge of possessive, male pride hit my chest. I knew she designed the clothes herself just like she did the silk purple tie which was currently lying in my pocket. My chest tightened a
GOING FAR AWAY ARIA'S POV “Then go,” my father growled, standing up from the table. “I disown you as my daughter.”“Don’t say that, dear…” Elena fake-interjected.“No, Lina. Let her go.” He yelled at her. “You idiot! Was I the one that asked him to dump you, Aria? If you had been a good girlfriend, would he have left you for your sister? You couldn't even accomplsh a simple thing as keeping your man happy, and now you are here talking down to me?” “You are acting the same way your mother did, just because she was providing for us during the short while I was broke! I can see you are really Brianna's daughter.”“ Honestly, I wonder whose daughter you actually are. Because this was the same promiscuous way she acted when she was married to me, and now you are doing the same!"He pointed a shaking, furious finger at my body. "Look at you! Marks all over your body… shameless. Who did you go and sleep with last night?”I just stood there, watching my father throw those vile words dire
THE SHOW ARIA'S POV The heavy front door clicked shut behind me. I stood on the smooth white marble floor of the foyer for a few seconds, to prepare myself before meetingtheir disgusting faces. Then I heard the laughter again. Louder this time.It was coming right from the dining room down the hall. Lora’s annoying, high-pitched giggle with my father’s deep voice. What a great, happy, bright morning."Oh, Jay boo, stop it! You're spoiling me too much," Lora’s voice floated down the hallway as I walked in their direction, gagging at her words. "Dad, tell him he has to stop.""The boy knows how to treat his future wife, Lora," my father replied. I could hear the thick pride in his voice. It was never present when he addressed me. Ever."He’s a good man."A wave of vomit hit the back of my throat. A good man indeed. The same man who left one sister for another. What a spectacular sense of morals.I stunmbled as I increased my pace wondering if the distance had always been this goddam
