ARIA'S POV

My legs are killing me.

I shift in my chair, trying to find a comfortable position, but the cramp in my calf only seems to get worse. With a frustrated sigh, I move my laptop aside and stretch my legs beneath the desk.

I've been working for hours, trying to catch up on everything I've missed while rebuilding my business. I'm finally making progress, but my body has apparently decided to complain about everything.

I rub my calf and glance at the clock.

Where is Noah?

ARIA'S POV "I'm telling you, Noah, you shouldn't buy more stuff for the baby. Most of these things aren't even useful for the first few years." "Fine. I'll buy things they can use now." I roll my eyes. "Why is it so hard to reason with—" A sharp pain grips my abdomen. I grab the edge of the sofa, waiting for it to pass. But then I feel something warm trickle down my legs. My eyes widen. "Noah?" He answers immediately. "What's wrong, baby?" "My water just broke!" "I'm coming." The call ends. I stare at my phone for a second before screaming, "NAOMI!" She rushes into the sitting room. One look at me, and she immediately calls for the car. The hospital bag is already packed, thanks to everyone's endless preparations, but that does nothing to calm my nerves. "I'm not ready!" "You don't have to be ready, Aria. You just have to get to the hospital." Another contraction hits, and I grab her arm. "I'm going to die!" "You are not going to die." "HOW DO Y

ARIA'S POV Noah went completely still. I remember staring at him, waiting for his reaction, while he looked from the doctor to me as though he wasn't entirely sure he'd heard correctly. Then his expression changed. The shock gave way to a smile so wide that I couldn't help laughing. He was happy. Very happy. But he also admitted later that he hadn't expected it to happen so soon. He'd wanted more time with me, more days when we could disappear together without anyone interrupting us. I understood that. Unfortunately, the moment our families found out, my freedom practically disappeared. Mamie, Aline, Antoine, Daisy, and everyone else suddenly had opinions about what I should eat, how much I should rest, and what I was allowed to do. Naomi was even worse. She seemed to appear from nowhere whenever I tried to do something on my own. If I stood for too long, she noticed. If I looked tired, she noticed. If I so much as mentioned a headache, she was ready to call the doc

If he's here, I won't have to struggle with this stupid cramp by myself. He'll just sit beside me, take my leg in his hands, and massage it until the pain eases. I smile at the thought. Honestly, I've become far too dependent on my husband. But is that really my fault? He's practically encouraged it. With another sigh, I close my laptop and stand carefully. I step out of the study and head toward the dining room. "Oh, Madam!" Mira calls cheerfully when she spots me.

The drive to Alexis's prison was quieter. Aria sat beside Noah, watching the scenery pass outside the window. Noah reached over and took her hand. "You don't have to see her today." "I want to." Aria said, turning to him. He nodded. "Then I'll wait for you." She squeezed his hand. "You're not coming inside?" "No. She doesn't deserve my attention." Aria leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I won't be long." Noah turned his head and caught her lips. "Don't be." She smiled faintly and got out of the car. Falcon and two other men accompanied her into the prison. ☆~☆ Alexis looked nothing like the woman Aria remembered. The uniform hung loosely on her frame. Her hair was unkempt, and her face had lost the polished beauty she had once taken such pride in. There were dark circles beneath her eyes, and her lips looked dry and cracked. She sat in the visiting area with a chain secured around her waist, the restraints limiting how far she could move. When the guard announced Aria's

The week at the secluded glass house passed peacefully. For seven days, Aria and Noah enjoyed being alone together, away from the media, business troubles, and everything else that had happened. By the time they packed their bags to return to the main King estate, they had finally put their recent troubles behind them. Their return brought plenty of excitement. Master Zay had finished his final checkup on Remy and confirmed that the neurotoxin was completely gone from the boy's system. With his work done, the doctor packed his things and returned to his village. During their first family dinner back at the mansion, everyone was chatting and laughing. Remy sat happily beside Aria, eating his food. Then, he suddenly looked up at her. "Mommy? I want a baby." The entire dining room fell silent. Aria choked on her water and began coughing. Her face turned red as she stared at her seven-year-old son. "R-Remy! What did you just say?" Sitting beside her, Noah remained perfect

Aria woke to the scent of food and the presence of someone watching her. Noah sat on the edge of the mattress, already dressed in low-slung black sweatpants, a tray balanced carefully in his hands. Scrambled eggs with herbs, thick slices of buttered sourdough, crisp bacon, and a small bowl of cut fruit. Steam still rose from the coffee. He had even added a single purple flower in a tiny glass. Aria blinked at him, body heavy and deliciously sore. The night had been endless rounds of claiming and being claimed. Even in the shower he had taken her again—slow at first, then harder—before cleaning her gently. She half-remembered the cool smear of ointment between her legs while she drifted in and out of consciousness. Seeing his handsome face softened by morning light, she grinned. “You made breakfast.” “I need to feed my queen, don’t I?” Noah’s voice was low, still rough from sleep and everything they had done. He set the tray across her lap and lifted a forkful of eggs to her l
