Kayla's POV

"Rogan had decided that if he couldn't steal Kayla's powers or kill her off." Mia revealed, "Then he would turn Kayla so angry, so bitter and so full of hate, that she unconsciously destroys everything and everyone she loves. Until the only person she has left is him. Then he will have her. And from the look of things," Mia gestured at her bandages. "I think his plan is already working."

I froze.

“That means,” I added with my eyes locking on her's, “he could twist me enough to hurt my own child.”

Mia looked away for a moment then murmured a quiet "Yes." That shook my world.

The room seemed to tilt until My breath began to catch painfully in my throat.

My heart was hammering, but my blood felt like it had stopped moving entirely.

“No…” The word barely escaped my lips. “No, that—”

“Luna Kayla?” Ingrid’s voice cut in with concern. She stepped toward me, but I instinctively backed away until Adrian held me. My legs felt like they didn’t belong to me anymore.

Ivonne's pov Ivonne,” he said again, this time softer. The sound of my name in that tone—low, steady, almost reassuring—made my words falter. He exhaled, then spoke slowly, like he was choosing every word carefully. “You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll guide you every step of the way. You have nothing to fear.” I blinked at him, caught off guard. “You… will?” He nodded, eyes steady on mine. “No matter what happens, I’ll make sure you’re not alone in this.” For a second, I just stared at him, trying to process what I’d heard. It wasn’t a dramatic promise, not filled with tenderness or emotion. But something about the quiet certainty in his voice made warmth bloom in my chest. “Thank you,” I murmured, almost shyly. He gave a small nod, as if brushing it off, and gestured toward the bed. “Now, sleep. You’ve had enough drama for one day.” “I’m not tired,” I lied, even though I could barely keep my eyes open. “Sleep anyway,” he said firmly, pulling the blanket down for me.

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Hector and Ivonne compromise

Ivonne’s POVI crossed my arms tightly and glared at Hector, who had now been pacing around the room like a storm trapped in a bottle. The silence between us was heavy and tense,I think too tense. I could still feel the phantom weight of his hand on my shoulder from when he’d stopped me earlier, his expression unreadable as always. But now, that calm mask was starting to crack, and I was getting tired of it.He wouldn’t look at me.I took a slow breath. “You still haven’t answered my question, Hector.”He stopped, his back turned toward me, his posture rigid. “What question?”I rolled my eyes. “Don’t play dumb. Where were you when I was attacked?”That made him freeze completely. His shoulders stiffened, his fists curled slightly, and for a moment, he didn’t move at all.I stepped forward, ignoring the nervous twist in my stomach. “You keep acting like you’re protecting me, but when I was actually in danger, you weren’t there. So tell me, where were you?”His jaw tightened as he turn

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Wife to be

Hector’s pov“When,” I said slowly, my voice dangerously low, “did I ever agree to produce an heir?”I really should have expected it. Elder Marcellus had never passed up a chance to undermine or try to humiliate me, but the sound of his laughter. The stupid low, rasping, poisonous sound still made my hands curl into fists. The hall was filled with it now, his mocking voice bouncing off the stone walls.“You truly thought we would allow you to waste your bloodline on a weak werewolf woman? That we would permit an heir tainted with weakness?” He leaned on his staff, his eyes glittering with malice. “We already agreed last year—no weak wolf child born of a weak wolf wife.”The others chuckled darkly, feeding off him like hyenas.I gritted my teeth, swallowing down the sharp rise of anger. I’d fought men, armies, even other Alphas, and none of them got under my skin the way these goddess forsaken rotten elders did.But then Marcellus tilted his head, and the next words cut deep.“And no

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Hector's broken promise

Hector’s povI barely had time to breathe when I stormed back to my packhouse. My fists were still clenched from the will reading, my jaw aching from how tightly I’d been grinding my teeth the whole ride back. Fury still burned through me, hot and sharp, though under it there was a heaviness I couldn’t quite ignore.I finally made it to my office but the moment I dropped into my chair, finally—finally—allowing myself to sink down, I caught Sevrin’s face. His eyes had gone distant, unfocused, the way they always did when he received a mind link.Ah Shit!I already knew this wasn’t going to be good.A second later, his expression shifted—no, it didn’t shift. The icy Lycan Sevrin didn’t do expressions. But his lips pressed together, his spine straightened, and when his gaze snapped back to me, it was like staring into a slab of ice.“The elders have summoned you,” he said flatly.Of course they had.I sighed, dragging a hand down my face. “What for?” I sighed. He didn’t answer at first.

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    To trust again

Ivonne's povFor a while, Hector still didn’t move after Lincoln left. The door had clicked shut, leaving a silence that weighed heavy in the room. My chest rose and fell too quickly, as if the air itself was too thick to breathe. And then Hector moved.Closer. And closer, until he was Too close.I instinctively stepped back, my spine brushing against the edge of the nightstand. “What are you doing?” I asked, trying for a sharp tone but hearing the wobble in my own voice.“My goddamn duty,” he said simply, like that explained everything.I was about to ask again but His hand shot out with strong fingers catching my wrist before I could retreat further. He tugged me toward him, and I stumbled forward, right into the heat of his chest. My breath caught. He scanned me with those sharp eyes of his. They swept over my face, down my arms before lingering too long at my shoulders. His other hand lifted, firm and unyielding as he tilted my chin so he could look even closer. “Are you hurt? Any

Ivonne’s povThe door slammed open so hard it banged against the wall, making me jolt. My heart skipped and my breath caught in my throat as I saw Hector filling the doorway, looking tall and furious with his eyes sharp as blades. He looked like a storm bottled up in human form, and when his gaze landed on me—no, on me frozen in Lincolns arms, his sneer curled up like it was carved from pure disdain.“Get your fucking hands off of her, Lincoln.” His voice was low, dangerous, like the warning growl of a predator about to pounce.Lincoln didn’t even flinch. His hand was still in my hair, his arm still around me from when I’d woken up sobbing, and his jaw tightened with defiance. “This isn’t your business, Hector. You don’t get to barge in and order me around. Besides, she’s not complaining.”What?! I gaped up at him and suddenly realized that I was actually still in his arms, but it was out of shock, and not the desire to stay. The air between I and him suddenly felt too thick and suff
