As Dr. Hayes left the room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness wash over me. The news of her departure and the impending change in my recovery left me feeling adrift, unsure of what the future held.

Alone in my room, I tried to push aside my feelings of unease and focus on the present. Dinner arrived shortly after, brought in by one of the nurses who had been attending to me since my arrival. Their familiar faces and comforting presence helped to ease some of the tension that had been building within me.

As I ate my meal, my thoughts turned to the pack hierarchy, a topic that had been on my mind since my arrival. Despite the outward appearance of unity, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to the pack than met the eye.

Once I had finished eating, I approached one of the nurses, a kind-hearted woman named Emily, and decided to broach the topic with her.

"Nurse Emily, can I ask you something?"
