Jake's POV

I drove away from the hospital, passing up my city apartment. It had been a long day, and I was exhausted. Taking the long drive and finally coming to the road along Whispering Creek's Ranch, an unpaved road. When the horse farm came into view, I pulled my truck to the shoulder and sat motionless. My hands were gripping the steering wheel, my attention traveling over the land.

I looked at the land covered with pink wildflowers and bluebonnets. Trees and more trees, I inhaled deeply the beautiful smells of the flowers that grew on that farm. Sensitive to every unique fragrance that traveled through this environment and around me.

The scene I looked at, sitting in my car, as a whole, was plain and straightforward but extremely breathtaking. I told myself there is nothing about it that should make me love it as much as I did. But it was all he had of my childhood memories.
